  1. 1. Hur kan bostadsgårdar utformas mer hållbart? : inriktning på ekologisk hållbarhet och hälsa

    University essay from SLU/Dept. of Landscape Architecture, Planning and Management (from 130101)

    Author : Astrid Toftegaard Jensen; Jessica Larsson; [2024]
    Keywords : hållbarhet; bostadsgård; växter; markmaterial; ekosystem; biologisk mångfald; hälsa; ekosstemtjänster;

    Abstract : I takt med en växande befolkning och urbanisering ökar efterfrågan på bostäder avsevärt. Detta resulterar i att grönområdena minskas och viktiga naturvärden går förlorade för att tillgodose den växande efterfrågan. Bostadsgårdens yta har stor potential och möjligheter vid skapandet av hållbara städer. READ MORE

  2. 2. Techno-Economic Analysis of Dye Separation in Textile Recycling

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära

    Author : David Lundberg; [2024]
    Keywords : Dye; Membrane filtration; Electrocoagulation; Techno-economic analysis; Pre-feasibility study; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : This study determines the technical and economic feasibility of separating dye from a process filtrate in industrial textile recycling using electrocoagulation or sequences of membrane filtration with microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration and reverse osmosis. The lower requirements for treating this stream, compared to previously researched dyehouse effluents, left treatments not good enough for dyehouses viable for this process filtrate. READ MORE

  3. 3. Selected PFAS in the water treatment at the waste-to-energy plant in Umeå : Investigating concentration and composition of selected PFAS in different water treatment steps

    University essay from Umeå universitet/Institutionen för ekologi, miljö och geovetenskap

    Author : Amanda Carlund; [2023]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The present study investigated the changes in concentration and composition of five selected PFAS substances in the water treatment at the waste-to-energy plant in Umeå. The five PFAS were PFHxA, PFHpA, PFOA, PFHxS and PFOS. As PFAS exists in a variety of consumer products, they will to some extent end up in waste incineration. READ MORE

  4. 4. Utilization of Biomethane in Decarbonising India´s Energy Mix

    University essay from KTH/Energiteknik

    Author : Niraj Ravindra Kunkulol; [2023]
    Keywords : Anaerobic digestion; biogas; biomethane; membrane filtration; pressure swing adsorption; Anaerob rötning; biogas; biometan; membranfiltrering; trycksvängadsorption;

    Abstract : This thesis investigates the potential of biomethane production in India, the impact of its integration into the energy mix, and the corresponding Greenhouse Gases (GHG) emission and potential reduction. India, with its huge population and being an agriculturally rich country, produces gigantic amounts of biodegradable waste from various sources such as Municipal Solid Waste (MSW),agricultural waste, animal husbandry, sugar industry, etc. READ MORE

  5. 5. Is two stage GAC better than one stage GAC for removing PFAS at a DWTP? : Investigation of PFAS removal from drinking water using two stage granular activated carbon (GAC) filter

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Author : Oliver Ekesiöö; [2023]
    Keywords : GAC; PFAS; drinking water treatment; two stage GAC;

    Abstract : The removal of 34 per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) were compared in a 1 stagegranular activated carbon (GAC) filtration to a 2 stage GAC filtration in a pilot study at adrinking water treatment plant (DWTP). The PFASs that were present in the water wereperfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS), perfluoropentanoic acid(PFPeA), perfluorohexanoic acid (PFHxA), perfluoroheptanoic acid (PFHpA), perfluorobutanesulfonic acid (PFBS), perfluoropentane sulfonic acid (PFPeS) and perfluorohexane sulfonic acid(PFHxS).
