  1. 1. Investigation of Injury Predictors for Rat Neuro Trauma

    University essay from KTH/Medicinteknik och hälsosystem

    Author : Rosetta Maglio; [2024]
    Keywords : Finite element method; Rat brain traumatic brain injury; Rat brain finite element model; Strain; Strain rate; Product of strain and strain rate; Rotational direction; Rotational duration; Injury prediction; Finita elementmetoden; Råtthjärnans finita elementmodell; Belastning; Belastningshastighet; Produkten av belastning och belastningshastighet; Rotationsriktning; Rotationstid; Skadeförutsägelse;

    Abstract : A traumatic brain injury is usually caused by a direct impact to the head and is a common cause of disability and death all around the world. The most effective method to predict brain injury today, is to use a finite element head model. READ MORE

  2. 2. MANGO - Generating 2D-Magnetic Field Maps From Normal-Conducting Magnets Of Experimental Areas

    University essay from KTH/Fysik

    Author : Ambre Visive; [2023]
    Keywords : Applied Physics; Particle Physics; MANGO; Magnetic Field Maps; Normal-Conducting Magnets; Finite-Element Modelling; Opera-2D; Git Repository; Python Package; Beam Lines; Experimental Areas; CERN; Tillämpad Fysik; Partikelfysik; MANGO; Magnetfältskartor; Normalkonduktiva Elektromagneter; Finit Elementmodellering; Opera-2D; Git Repository; Python Package; Partikelstrållinje; Experimentområden; CERN;

    Abstract : This thesis discusses the development of MANGO, a tool created to model normal-conducting magnets which were installed in the 1970s in the experimental areas at CERN, and store their analysis. MANGO formulates an answer to two problems faced by the physicists of the Beam Department when they model a beam line: first, how to produce new magnetic field maps and, second, how to easily access existing ones? It contains a multi-use package that offers an automated process to produce magnetic field maps from finite-element models of magnets. READ MORE

  3. 3. Environmental Testing of Large Components

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Author : Kenan Güler; Myriam Tenace; [2023]
    Keywords : battery packs; large electric components; random vibration; sine sweep; vibration testing.; batteripacken; random vibration; sinus sweep; stora elektriska komponenter; vibrationstestning.;

    Abstract : As the industry is being reshaped concentrically around sustainability, the consumption of fossil fuels is targeted to decrease day by day. As a consequence of that, a righteous rise of electricity as energy source prevails in different branches of industry. READ MORE

  4. 4. Design of cooling-air permeable coil support

    University essay from KTH/Hållfasthetslära

    Author : Rozbeh Ghassemi; [2023]
    Keywords : Topology optimization; FEM-simulations; CFD-simulations; Material selection; Topologioptimering; FEM-simuleringar; CFD-simuleringar; Materialval;

    Abstract : Coil supports are integral load-bearing components employed in generators andmotors. They serve the purpose of preventing excessive deformation and maintaininga stable position of the coils responsible for generating power and magnetic fieldswhen rotating. READ MORE

  5. 5. The Influence of Roughness on Electrical Properties of Single Rock Fractures

    University essay from KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknik

    Author : Yu Hou; [2023]
    Keywords : Single fracture; Roughness; Current; Electrical properties; Relative standard deviation; Numerical simulations; Enkelfraktur; Grovhet; Ström; Elektriska egenskaper; Relativ standardavvikelse; Numeriska simuleringar;

    Abstract : To investigate the relationship between the structural characteristics of rough single fracturesand the electrical properties of the rock. In this study, a series of physical models of roughand smooth single fractures were established using the finite element method and Ohm's lawto test the electrical conductivity. READ MORE
