  1. 1. Axisymmetric capillary water waves on cylindrical fluid jets

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Matematik (naturvetenskapliga fakulteten); Lunds universitet/Matematikcentrum

    Author : Anna-Mariya Otsetova; [2023]
    Keywords : Euler equations; Bernoulli boundary condition; Schauder estimates; nonlinear functional analysis; Mathematics and Statistics;

    Abstract : In their paper, Vanden-Broeck, Miloh and Spivack (Wave Motion 27, 1998) describe two limiting behaviours of irrotational, axisymmetric capillary water waves using numerical methods. They found a two-parameter family of nontrivial solutions. Some solutions of small amplitude approach a uniform stream, while others approach a static configuration. READ MORE

  2. 2. Global buckling of subsea pipelines with DEH cable

    University essay from KTH/Hållfasthetslära

    Author : Anders Meurk; [2022]
    Keywords : Solid Mechanics; Global Buckling; Subsea Pipelines; DEH cable; Hållfasthetslära; Global Buckling; Undervattensrörledningar; DEH kabel;

    Abstract : Hydrates, wax, and other fluids forms in cold subsea pipelines which restrict flow of petroleum products during operation. This thesis analyses the global buckling behaviour of subsea pipelines with Direct Electric Heating cables (DEH) through a combination of analytical and FEM simulations. READ MORE

  3. 3. Development of Foot Design for Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Innovation

    Author : Daniel Rundström; [2022]
    Keywords : Heat exchanger; bolted joints; product development; FEM.; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : In the process of making the industry more energy efficient, the gasketed plate heat exchanger has an important role as it effectively transfers heat between fluids. This master thesis aims to investigate and develop a new supportive foot for Alfa Laval’s gasketed plate heat exchangers. READ MORE

  4. 4. Epidotization as an Effect of Fluid Rock Interaction, Recorded by a Granitoid From Hågadalen, Uppsala

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Mineralogi, petrologi och tektonik

    Author : Linn Barreby; [2022]
    Keywords : Fluids; Fluid Transport; Metamorphism; Metasomatism; Saussuritization; Epidote Group; Geology; Bedrock; Fluider; Fluidtransport; Metamorfos; Metasomatism; Saussuritisering; Epidot Gruppen; Geologi; Berggrund;

    Abstract : A common driving mechanism of metamorphic processes, from which secondary mineralizations and structures develop in a protolith, is known to be a change of the immediate P-T environment that a rock resides in. A factor in this process, which is poorly understood, however, is how the presence of metamorphic fluids in a system, influences the alteration of primary igneous rocks. READ MORE

  5. 5. Development and validation of an improved wall-function boundary condition for computational aerodynamics

    University essay from KTH/Strömningsmekanik och Teknisk Akustik

    Author : Carlo Loris Palombo; [2021]
    Keywords : Wall Functions; Wall Treatment; M-Edge; Computational Fluid Dynamics; Turbulent Boundary Layer; Turbulence Models; Väggfunktionsranvillkor; M-Edge; Strömningsmekaniska beräkningar; Turbulent Gränsskikt; Turbulensmodeller;

    Abstract : Computational Fluid Dynamics is a powerful and widely used tool for developing projectsthat concern flow motion, in very different fields. Industrial CFD solvers are continuouslydeveloped with the aim of improving accuracy and reducing the computational cost of thesimulations. READ MORE
