  1. 1. Calibration and preparation of the data analysis of the DORN experiment on board the Chang'E 6 lunar mission.

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för system- och rymdteknik

    Author : Íñigo de Loyola Chacartegui Rojo; [2023]
    Keywords : Radon; lunar mission; alpha spectrometry; space instrumentation; performance testing and validation;

    Abstract : As part of the first agreement between the French (CNES) and the Chinese (CNSA) space agencies in terms of space exploration, the DORN instrument will fly on board the Chinese Chang'E 6 mission in 2024. It aims to measure the amount of Radon escaping from the lunar soil to better understand what governs the concentration of this noble gas which contributes to the endogenous origin of the lunar exosphere. 3. 3. Convergence improvement and qualification of a model for fission gas behaviour in nuclear fuel

    University essay from KTH/Numerisk analys, NA

    Author : Gaël Dubus; [2007]
    Keywords : modelling; nuclear; fuel; PWR; numerical; solver; convergence; qualification;

    Abstract : During the irradiation in a fuel assembly of a Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR), the thermal diffusion processes are not the only active mechanisms: the effects of irradiation are significant, involving variations of the diffusion coefficients as well as creation and evolution of point defects and cavities in the material.In this document we present the work we have done on MOGADOR, a numerical fission gas behaviour model for nuclear fuel under irradiation in a PWR focusing on the modelling of the behaviour of irradiation defects, fission gases and as-fabricated pores.
