  1. 1. Can generalised trust in news media change media exposure patterns?

    University essay from Göteborgs universitet/JMG - Inst f journalistik och masskomm

    Author : Grėtė Kaulinytė; [2020-10-12]
    Keywords : Trust in news media; media trust; media exposure; media exposure; intentional news avoidance; intentional news avoidance; online or social media; alternative political media; attitude-consistent media; counter-attitudinal media;

    Abstract : The question of how trust in news media relates to news media exposure patterns attracts considerable attention from both scholars and society in general. Many previous studies have found that trust in news media positively relates to mainstream media exposure and negatively relates to non-mainstream media exposure, including online and social media news. 2. 2. Re-thinking green roof design : The prospect of a carbon sink structure investigated through a life cycle cost-benefit analysis

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Internationella miljöinstitutet

    Author : Aziliz Le Rouzo; [2020]
    Keywords : Carbon Footprint; Green Roof Design; Carbon Sink; Cost-Effectiveness; Life cycle Cost-Benefit Analysis; Green Roofs; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : Green Roofs (GRs) have been used worldwide as a solution for greening cities, while providing useful services to society such as storm water management, improved air quality, energy savings, and increased biodiversity, to name a few. However, the environmental impact of their structure has been understudied, and more importantly, the carbon cost related to the use of materials that have a high carbon footprint has received little to no attention. 3. 3. Characterization of black corrosion in reinforced concrete structures: analyses of field samples from southern Sweden

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Author : Jenny Halling; [2019]
    Keywords : black rust; anaerobic corrosion; reinforced concrete; corrosion products; green rust; microbial corrosion; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : I den här studien karakteriseras fenomenet anaerob korrosion utifrån både litteraturstudier om korrosionsprocesser och korrosionsprodukter samt genom undersökning av fältprover från betongkonstruktioner i salthaltiga undervattensmiljöer i södra Sverige. Anaerob korrosion av armering i vattenmättad betong är ett omfattande men hittills relativt ouppmärksammat problem. READ MORE

  4. 4. Interactive visualization of radio waves propagation in 5G massive MIMO

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Wojciech Adaszynski; [2019]
    Keywords : Visualization; Interface design; Participatory design; Affective visualization; Massive MIMO; Beamforming;

    Abstract : The complexity of advanced antenna techniques used in the new generation of wireless networks (5G) makes communication between experts and non-technical staff more difficult than ever. As cooperation between network vendors and network operators affects the adoption of the new standard, a need for a new tool has emerged to make technical presentations more engaging and compelling. 5. 5. Approximating general relativistic effects in Newtonian hydrodynamic supernova simulations

    University essay from Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för astronomi

    Author : Elvira Granqvist; [2019]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : In this research, the validity of using an effective potential to approximate general relativistic effects in an otherwise Newtonian setting was investigated, by making simulations of core collapse supernovae on one hand in full general relativity, and on the other hand in said Newtonian setting. This was done for a mass range covering progenitors of 12 − 60 solar masses; a much wider mass range than has been used in earlier research, that also includes progenitors that form black holes.
