  1. 1. Tunnel Seismic Prediction in Stockholm Bypass

    University essay from KTH/Jord- och bergmekanik

    Author : Matilda Wessén; Janita Österberg; [2021]
    Keywords : Tunnel Seismic Prediction; TSP; Seismic waves; Stockholm Bypass; Geological mapping; Measurement While Drilling; Tunnel Seismic Prediction; TSP; Seismiska vågor; Förbifart Stockholm; Bergkartering; Measurement While Drilling;

    Abstract : Tunnel Seismic Prediction (TSP) is a geophysical investigation method used to predict the rock conditions ahead of the tunnel face. The method has been used in different types of rock and rock conditions. READ MORE

  2. 2. The effect of groundwater extraction on nitrate vulnerable recharge areas (NFI) in Denmark. MIKE SHE simulations of different extraction scenarios.

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Teknisk geologi; Lunds universitet/Väg- och vattenbyggnad (CI)

    Author : Sophie Gruschka; [2018]
    Keywords : Groundwater modelling; MIKE SHE; Nitrate vulnerability; NFI; Brokilde; Halsnæs; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : This thesis aims to outline the effect of different abstraction scenarios on the extent of nitrate vulnerable recharge area (NFI) in two study areas in Denmark. NFI were designated in order to protect vulnerable groundwater resources from nitrate pollution, where the geology overlying the aquifers does not serve as a sufficient barrier. READ MORE

  3. 3. Application of ERT and IP for localisation of chlorinated hydrocarbons at a former dry-cleaning facility

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Teknisk geologi; Lunds universitet/Väg- och vattenbyggnad (CI)

    Author : Hedda Jönsson; Anna Wiberg; [2017]
    Keywords : Chlorinated hydrocarbons; PCE; Hagforstvätten; Geophysics; Resistivity; Chargeability; Geological features; Man-made structures; Technology and Engineering; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : At Hagforstvätten a dry-cleaning facility operated 1970 – 1993 and leached huge amounts of tetrachloroethene (PCE) to soil and groundwater. This study was conducted at the contaminated site and focused on applying the geophysical methods Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) and Induced Polarization (IP) to investigate if it was possible to locate source zone, degradation zones and groundwater plumes of PCE. 4. 4. High-resolution offshore reflection seismic investigation of the Stockholm Bypass tunnel

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Author : Fengyi Liu; [2017]
    Keywords : infrastructure; tunnel; seismic; reflection; multiple; engineering;

    Abstract : Boat-towed high-frequency, short source and receiver spacing, reflection seismic data, 16 profiles and in total 3884 m long, were acquired in 2008 for the planning of the Stockholm Bypass multilane (3 lanes in each direction in two different tubes) underground motorway tunnel designed to ease the ever increasing car traffic on the city and neighbouring regions. The planned bypass will be about 21 km long of which 18 km will be in the form of bedrock tunnel. READ MORE
