  1. 1. Train Induced Vibration Analysis of an End-frame Bridge : Numerical Analysis on Sidensjövägen

    University essay from KTH/Bro- och stålbyggnad

    Author : Niklas Wiberg; Jasmin Halilovic; [2018]
    Keywords : Accelerations; Dynamics; End-frame bridge; FE-modeling; Frequency response function; High-speed railway; Soil structure interaction; Train induced vibrations; 2D 3D;

    Abstract : Higher speeds and higher capacity will cause the Swedish rail network to be exposed to disturbing dynamic effects. Higher speeds cause higher vertical acceleration levels of the bridge deck. In this thesis, a numerical analysis of a three span end-frame bridge subjected to train induced vibrations is performed. 2. 2. Soil-structure interaction of end-frames for high-speed railway bridges

    University essay from KTH/Bro- och stålbyggnad

    Author : Johan Östlund; [2016]
    Keywords : Dynamics; SSI; Soil-structure interaction; Soil-bridge interaction; HSR; High-speed railway; Impedance; Receptance; End-frame bridge; Dynamik; SSI; Jord-struktur interaktion; Jord-bro interaktion; HSR; Höghastighetsbana; Höghastighetståg; Impedans; Receptans; Ändskärmsbro;

    Abstract : In this thesis, the influence of soil-structure interaction (SSI) of end-frame bridges for high-speed railways was studied. Impedance functions, representing the SSI, was calculated and analyzed. The impedance functions were applied to end-frame bridge models which were analyzed for use in HSR. READ MORE

  3. 3. Vibration Control of a High-Speed Railway Bridge Using Multiple Tuned Mass Dampers

    University essay from KTH/Bro- och stålbyggnad

    Author : Heydar Beygi; [2015]
    Keywords : Tuned mass dampers; Dynamic analysis; high-speed railway bridge; Banafjäl bridge;

    Abstract : In the current thesis, the Banafjäl Bridge located on the Bothnia line (Botniabanan) in northern Sweden was studied. The bridge is a 40m long composite ballasted high-speed railway bridge. A 3D FE model of the bridge was developed using a commercial FE software, Abaqus. The FE model was calibrated against the measured data of the bridge. READ MORE

  4. 4. Optimal Design of Bridges for High-Speed Trains : Single and double-span bridges

    University essay from KTH/Bro- och stålbyggnad; KTH/Järnvägsgruppen, JVG

    Author : Carine Mellier; [2010]
    Keywords : Optimization; Vertical deck acceleration; Railway bridges; High-speed trains; Train Signature; Finite element analysis;

    Abstract : To deal with an increasing demand in transportation, trains are made longer and faster. Higher speeds imply higher impacts on bridges. Therefore, structures have to be designed to resist these new constraints. The Eurocode (2002) introduced additional checks for the design of high-speed railway bridges. READ MORE
