1. Comparing Quantum and Semi-Classical Approaches to Non-Collinear Magnetism in an Electron-Spin Dimer
University essay from Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Matematisk fysikAbstract : In this bachelor thesis, an explorative theoretical analysis is presented on a model system characterized by various and competing magnetic interactions. The system comprises two localized magnetic moments (spins), and a single itinerant electron that hops between two orbitals located at the spins’ positions. READ MORE

2. Analysis of polyfunctional thiols in beer : Developing a novel method of extraction and analysis using GC-FID
University essay from Lunds universitet/Livsmedelsteknik och nutrition (master)Abstract : In this project, attempts were made to identify and quantify two polyfunctional thiols – 4-mercapto-4-methyl-pentanone and 3-mercaptohexyl acetate – and three monoterpene alcohols – linalool, geraniol, and β-citronellol – in beer samples. In order to avoid the use of hazardous compounds such as dichloromethane and hydroxymercuriobenzoate, common in traditional methods, two novel techniques were tested: a pure liquid-liquid extraction of the beer samples with cyclohexane, and a liquid-liquid extraction with cyclohexane followed by solid phase extraction on silver ion columns. 3. An Analysis on Bluetooth Mesh Networks and its Limits to Practical Use
University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)Abstract : A mesh network is a technology that is being repopularized and becoming commonly used by the general public. As this increase in use is observed, technologies such as Bluetooth are being adapted to create mesh variants. In this thesis, a Bluetooth mesh network is created and tested using raspberry pi 4’s and the Bluetooth interface, btferret. READ MORE
