  1. 11. Modus Hoperandi: A Critical Agrarian Study of Hop Production in Sweden and Exploration of Localized Hop Production in the Scandinavian Context

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Humanekologi

    Author : Enrique Mejia; [2019]
    Keywords : Critical Agrarian Studies; Sweden; Hops; Humulus Lupulus; Economic Localization; Agricultural History; Agriculture and Food Sciences;

    Abstract : Using a critical agrarian studies approach, this study focuses on the history and current context of hop production in Sweden and adjoining parts of Scandinavia as a case study illustrating how land-use changes and the paradigm shift towards globalized agri-food systems has tended to marginalize traditional crop production as well as how completely new forms of hop production are able to practically confront the capitalist logic of globalized agriculture. This study explores class relationships, land-use changes, and the paradigm shift towards globalized agri-food systems to explain Sweden’s reliance upon foreign production systems to satisfy its growing hop consumption, despite centuries of domestic hop production. 2. 12. DMX-communication over Bluetooth low energy mesh network

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Signaler och System

    Author : Thomas Danielsson; [2019]
    Keywords : Bluetooth; BLE; mesh; Internet of Things; DMX;

    Abstract : With the addition of mesh capability to Bluetooth low energy(BLE) in 2017 new possibilities open up for the Internet of Things applications of Bluetooth. With the rapidly increasing number of connected devices a few new standards are competing for being the standard protocol for low power mesh communication. READ MORE

  3. 13. On the Feasibility of Deploying Highly Resilient Data Plane Forwarding Mechanisms Using Programmable Switches

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Henrik Lindbøl Bjørseth; [2019]
    Keywords : Network Robustness; Connectivity; Data Plane; Programming Protocol- Independent Packet Processors P4 ; Data-Driven Connectivity DDC .;

    Abstract : Network downtime is costly for providers of information technology services. One cause of network downtime is link failures. The control plane of the network is the entity responsible for ensuring connectivity upon link failures. The data plane of the network forwards packets at line speed and it is controlled by the control plane. READ MORE

  4. 14. Broiler producers´ perspectives on bacterial resilience; evaluating a potential of hops

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Author : Erik Gustafsson; [2019]
    Keywords : Sustainable development; hops; food system; ionophorous coccidiostats; bacterial resistance; broiler production;

    Abstract : An interview study was undertaken to explore Swedish broiler producers´ views for the potential of hops (H. lupulus L.) to reduce reliance on ionophorous coccidiostats in broiler production. The design was a mixed methodology between grounded theory and case study with a semi structured interview method. READ MORE

  5. 15. CONCURRENT INTERNET OF THINGS PROTOCOL STACKS

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för informationsteknologi

    Author : Faizan Ehsan Elahi; [2019]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This work presents the design and implementation of a firmware prototype that allows multiple Internet Of Things (IoT) protocols to coexist such that they share a single radio. 6LoWPAN over Time Slotted Channel Hopping (TSCH) and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) are the two network protocols that are explored in this work.
