  1. 11. Analysis of autonomous flight algorithms for an unmanned aerial vehicle

    University essay from Umeå universitet/Institutionen för fysik

    Author : Mattias Sjöberg; [2018]
    Keywords : UAV; SLAM; Split-And-Merge; APFA; V-REP; Inverse dynamics; FBLC; EKF;

    Abstract : Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) have been heavily studied in the past decade, where autonomous flights have been a popular subject. More complex applications have led to higher requirements on the autonomous flight algorithms and the absence of performance data complicates the selection of what algorithm to use for various applications. 2. 12. Income Inequality and Household Debt : A panel data study of 17 OECD-countries from 1995-2015

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Nationalekonomiska institutionen

    Author : Niclas Hvalgren; Linnea Englund Davidsson; [2018]
    Keywords : Household debt; Income inequality; Reference consumption; Relative income hypothesis of consumption; Panel data analysis; OECD; Advanced economies;

    Abstract : This study explores the relationship between income inequality and household indebtedness using panel data on 17 OECD-countries over the time period 1995-2015. Motivated by relative income theory of consumption and previous empirical research we anticipate a non-monotonic relationship between changes in household debt and income inequality (measured by the Gini- coefficient), as dynamics between different groups of households in the income spread is expected to vary at different levels of inequality. 3. 13. Ocean Waves Estimation : An Artificial Intelligence Approach

    University essay from Mälardalens högskola/Akademin för innovation, design och teknik

    Author : Andreas Ramberg; [2017]
    Keywords : Artificial Intelligence; Case-Based Reasoning; Encounter Angle; Encounter Spectrum; Feedforward Neural Network; Genetic Algorithm; Inverse Problem; Marine Vessels; Master Thesis; MATLAB; Model Parameter Estimation; Ocean Theory; Peak Period; Response Amplitude Operator; Ships; Significant Wave Height; Transfer Function; Wave Spectrum; Waves;

    Abstract : This thesis aims to solve the mathematical inverse problem of characterizing sea waves based on the responses obtained from a marine vessel sailing under certain sea conditions. By researching this problem the thesis contributes to the marine industry by improving products that are using ocean behavior for controlling ship's dynamics. READ MORE

  4. 14. A Mixed Frequency Steady-State Bayesian Vector Autoregression: Forecasting the Macroeconomy

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Statistiska institutionen

    Author : Måns Unosson; [2016]
    Keywords : Bayesian VAR; Gibbs Sampling; State-space; Mixed Frequency Data; Steady-state; Macroeconometrics; Forecasting;

    Abstract : This thesis suggests a Bayesian vector autoregressive (VAR) model which allows for explicit parametrization of the unconditional mean for data measured at different frequencies, without the need to aggregate data to the lowest common frequency. Using a normal prior for the steady-state and a normal-inverse Wishart prior for the dynamics and error covariance, a Gibbs sampler is proposed to sample the posterior distribution. READ MORE

  5. 15. Titanium vacancy diffusion in TiN via non-equilibrium ab initio molecular dynamics

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Teoretisk Fysik

    Author : Davide Gambino; [2016]
    Keywords : Titanium nitride; Ti monovacancy migration; Non-equilibrium ab initio molecular dynamics; Color diffusion algorithm; Statistics for stochastic events;

    Abstract : Transition metal nitrides (TMNs) refractory ceramic materials are  widely employed as wear-resistant protective coatings in industrial machining as well as diffusion barriers inhibiting migration of metal impurities from the interconnects to the semiconducting region of electronic devices. TiN is the prototype of this class of materials and the most studied among TMNs. READ MORE
