  1. 1. Influence of metal ions on lignin-based carbon fiber quality

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Industriell miljö- och processteknik

    Author : Sofia Andersson; [2017]
    Keywords : Carbon fiber; lignin; kraft lignin; cellulose; impregnation; LignoBoost; metal; ash; inorganic; black liquor; morfology; tensile testing; dry-jet wet spinning;

    Abstract : Carbon fiber is a lightweight, versatile material with many current and potential applications. To be able to expand the market for carbon fiber composites in other areas than special applications the production costs must be reduced. READ MORE

  2. 2. Co-combustion of Industrial Biosludge and other Residual Streams in a Bubbling Fluidized Bed : Focusing on reduction of operating and technical problems by analyzing the ash transformation chemistry

    University essay from Umeå universitet/Institutionen för tillämpad fysik och elektronik

    Author : Christian Öberg; [2016]
    Keywords : Co-combustion; biosludge; fluidized bed reactor; corrosion; nutrient recovery;

    Abstract : Today the use of resources in the industry are not complete to be considered as sustainable from the perspective of nutrient recovery. In the Swedish pulp and paper industry residual streams such as bark, fiber reject and sludge are returned for more sustainable use more frequently. READ MORE

  3. 3. High temperature corrosion on heat exchanger material exposed to alkali salt deposits

    University essay from Umeå universitet/Institutionen för tillämpad fysik och elektronik

    Author : Kajsa Persson; [2015]
    Keywords : high temperature corrosion; alkali salt; deposits; heat exchanger;

    Abstract : Power generation through decentralized small scale CHP would facilitate the use of biomass as an energy source, with the externally fired gas turbine (EFGT) being a promising technology due to its high electrical efficiency. In an EFGT hot flue gases are heat-exchanged with an air cycle, driving the turbine. READ MORE

  4. 4. Application of the ChlorOut concept in a waste wood fired CFB boiler

    University essay from SLU/Dept. of Energy and Technology

    Author : Mårten Carlberg; [2008]
    Keywords : superheater; corrosion; alkali; chlorides; ammonium; sulphate; chlorOut; IACM; potassium; KCl; bio fuels; sulphur;

    Abstract : Boilers converting from sulphur rich fossil fuels to alkali and chlorine rich bio fuels often experience an increased super heater corrosion. This is partly due to the increased formation of KCl during combustion of bio fuels. The problem could, for instance, be handled with a sulphur containing additive to the fuel or to the flue gases. 5. 5. Evaluation of alkali- impregnated honeycomb catalysts for NOx reduction in the SCR-process

    University essay from Institutionen för teknik och design

    Author : Sofia Johansson; [2006]
    Keywords : SCR; KCl; K2SO4; ZnCl2; wet impregnation; catalyst; deactivating; activity;

    Abstract : Samples of SCR catalysts were impregnated with the following alkali salts; KCl, K2SO4 and ZnCl2 at two different concentrations in a wet impregnation method. The activities of the six samples were measured in a test reactor and at different temperatures between 250-350 ºC. Compared to fresh catalyst, the impregnated samples all had lower activity.
