  1. 6. Comparison between CRUD and CQRS in an event driven system

    University essay from KTH/Hälsoinformatik och logistik

    Author : Rasmus Jansson; [2024]
    Keywords : CQRS; CRUD; Event Driven Architecture; Event Sourcing; EventStoreDB; Kafka; CQRS; CRUD; Händelsedriven Arkitektur; Händelsekällor; EventStoreDB; Kafka;

    Abstract : In todays digitalised society, effective solutions to manage huge amount of data is needed. An established design pattern that are used in many systems are CRUD. To handle data in events have become more popular over the years, but CRUD is not optimised for it. A possible replacement is CQRS, it is designed with events in mind. READ MORE

  2. 7. Simulation-based discrimination of Crab pulsar models with XL-Calibur

    University essay from KTH/Fysik

    Author : Dennis Åkerström; [2024]
    Keywords : Astroparticle Physics; Astrophysics; Detector Physics; Simulation; Theoretical Physics; Engineering Physics; Pulsar models; Crab pulsar; Astropartikelfysik; Astropartikelfysik; Detektorfysik; Simulering; Teoretisk Fysik; Teknisk Fysik; Pulsar modeller; Krabbpulsaren;

    Abstract : Polarisation of X-ray light is being investigated with polarimeters to extend the borders of what can be observed. Distant compact objects, such as pulsars, that are to small on the sky to be analysed with imaging can be investigated by analysing the polarisation of the emitted light. This can reveal physics previously hidden by their small nature. READ MORE

  3. 8. Gravitational Collapse of a Massless Scalar Field in a Theory of Minimally Modified Gravity

    University essay from KTH/Fysik

    Author : Atabak Fathe Jalali; [2024]
    Keywords : Theoretical physics; astrophysics; modified gravity; minimally modified gravity; gravitational collapse; VCDM; scalar collapse; apparent horizon; numerical relativity; Teoretisk fysik; astrofysik; modifierad gravitation; minimalt modifierad gravitation; gravitationskollaps; VCDM; skalär kollaps; uppenbar horisont; numerisk relativitet;

    Abstract : This thesis explores the spherically symmetric gravitational collapse of a massless scalar field in a minimally modified gravity theory denoted VCDM (V replaces $\Lambda$ in the $\Lambda$CDM abbreviation), a class of theories propagating the same degrees of freedom as general relativity at the expense of broken 4D diffeomorphism invariance. Numerical evolution of the equations of motion reveals that for small initial scalar profile amplitudes, no black hole forms from the collapse. READ MORE

  4. 9. Assessing the Effectiveness of Urban Trees with Skeletal Soils in Flood Risk Mitigation

    University essay from KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknik

    Author : Molly Boberg; [2024]
    Keywords : Flood Management; Climate Adaptation; Nature-Based Solutions NBS ; Urban Trees; Skeletal Soil; Hydrologic Modelling; MIKE; Översvämningshantering; Klimatanpassning; Naturbaserade lösningar; Stadsträd; Skelettjord; Hydrologisk modellering; MIKE;

    Abstract : With increased urbanization and climate change, heavy rainfall events and urban floods are becoming more frequent. To meet the demands for effective climate adaptation strategies and mitigation measures, Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) have received increased attention. READ MORE

  5. 10. Assessment of Climate Change Impact on Rainfed Barley Production in the Mediterranean Basin : The Almeria province case study

    University essay from KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknik

    Author : Francesco Saretto; [2024]
    Keywords : Barley; Rainfed; Climate Change; AquaCrop; AquaCrop-OSPy; Mediterranean; Climate Change Adaptation; Crop Modeling; Agriculture; Irrigation;

    Abstract : The Mediterranean basin is widely recognized as a climate change hotspot, with climate models projecting increasingly warmer and drier conditions that will impact local ecosystems, communities, and economies. Agriculture will be among the most affected sectors, with harsher conditions for crops’ growth, greater water needs, and lower yields. READ MORE
