  1. 1. C/O+ charge transfer & the Olson-Demkov model

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Teoretisk astrofysik

    Author : Kristoffer Bengtsson; [2021]
    Keywords : Astronomy; Charge transfer; rate coefficient; Carbon; Oxygen; energy defect; spectral modelling; supernovae;

    Abstract : Charge transfer reactions and their rates play a key role in correctly estimating element abundances in astrophysical objects such as supernovae. The reaction $C + O^+ \rightarrow C^+ + O(^1D) + \Delta E$ has been shown to be of significance when estimating oxygen abundances through model spectrum evaluations, and the relative rate of this reaction can under certain circumstances completely dictate the neutralization rate of oxygen ions. 2. 2. Broadening of spectral lines in the Gaia-ESO survey

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Teoretisk fysik

    Author : Kristoffer Bengtsson; [2018]
    Keywords : Astronomy; Hydrogen; Iron; Spectral line broadening; collisional broadening; pressure broadening; Gaia; Stellar atmosphere; spectrum; stars: abundances; Atomic data; Astronomi; tryckbreddning; kollisionsbreddning; breddning av spektrallinjer; spektrum; väte; järn; Gaia; stjärnatmosfär; atomdata;

    Abstract : Analyzing stellar spectra plays a big role in understanding the evolution of our galaxy. Having good data for spectral line properties is very important when analyzing these spectra. One part of the Gaia-ESO public spectroscopic survey (GES) is to gather data for spectral line properties from stellar spectra. READ MORE

  3. 3. Ethical funds: a lot of bark but not enough bite? - A comparison and investigation of Swedish ethical funds

    University essay from Göteborgs universitet/Företagsekonomiska institutionen

    Author : Niklas Bengtsson; Kristoffer Peterson; [2009-01-26T13:20:23Z]
    Keywords : Funds; Ethical funds; Swedish ethical fund; Ethical investments; Screening process;

    Abstract : Background and problem: There has been an increase in social and ethical investments and this increase can be due to many reasons such as growth of investors’ concern, growth of corporate social responsibility and growing evidence that ethical funds produce good returns as reasons to the increase of ethical investments (Schwartz, 2003). Through research of the literature we find that what qualifies as an ethical fund is not clear. READ MORE
