  1. 1. Near-local density approximation approach to one-dimensional lattice systems

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Matematisk fysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Basheer Joudeh; [2018]
    Keywords : DFT; Hartree; Hartree-Fock; LDA; BALDA; Mean-field; Hubbard; SOFT; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : Describing many-body quantum systems has been an analytically and computationally challenging task since the advent of quantum mechanics. However, in the past 50 years as a result of our technological advancement and the emergence of methods such as density-functional theory (DFT), we have taken crucial steps forward regarding our ability to study and understand large quantum systems. 2. 2. Outdoor Small Cell Deployment with Complementary Spectrum Authorizations, Licensed (LSA) and Unlicensed (LAA) : Techno-Economic Analysis

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för informations- och kommunikationsteknik (ICT)

    Author : Fikri Firman; [2017]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The significant increase in mobile data traffc has put a considerable load on the wireless mobile networks. In the current highly competitive market, Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) have to strive to provide additional capacityof their network, by also considering the cost factor to make their business sustainable. 3. 3. An exploratory study of Middle Stone Age and Later Stone Age site locations in Kenya’s Central Rift Valley using landscape analysis : a GIS approach

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Author : Angela Kabiru; [2017]
    Keywords : geography; geographical information systems; archaeology; Kenya; Central Rift Valley; landscape analysis; Middle Stone Age; Later Stone Age; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : The Kenyan central rift has witnessed dramatic climatic changes over relatively short periods of time in response to global climatic changes, with the water levels of the lakes within the rift rising and falling with these changing conditions. There is considerable evidence showing extreme wet and dry phases throughout their existence. READ MORE

  4. 4. Testing and evaluation of lifeboat stability - Experimental stability testing and a study of the responsibility delegation between the parties involved in the classification process of life-saving appliances

    University essay from Chalmers tekniska högskola/Institutionen för sjöfart och marin teknik

    Author : Kristoffer Hagström; Mathias Nilsson; [2017]
    Keywords : ADMINISTRATION; EU; IMO; LIFEBOAT; LSA; MED; MSC; NOTIFIED BODY; SOLAS; STABILITY;

    Abstract : During a lifeboat training session, the authors experienced a lifeboat to be somewhat “on the edge” with regards to its stability, and an interest to practically test lifeboats’ stability and their compliance with the relevant requirements arose. This, together with the fact that one relatively newly manufactured and type-approved lifeboat was found to not fully comply with the relevant requirements in a recently performed test, despite having undergone and passed the regulated tests and evaluation in the classification process, prompted this study on stability and evaluation of lifeboat stability. 5. 5. Investigating the Correlation Between Marketing Emails and Receivers Using Unsupervised Machine Learning on Limited Data : A comprehensive study using state of the art methods for text clustering and natural language processing

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för datavetenskap och kommunikation (CSC)

    Author : Christoffer Pettersson; [2016]
    Keywords : Machine learning; Unsupervised; Natural language processing; nlp; clustering; centroid based; k-means; text clustering; limited data; email clustering; lsa; svd; tf-idf; dimensionality reduction; the gap statistic; Lloyd s algorithm; vectorization; feature extraction;

    Abstract : The goal of this project is to investigate any correlation between marketing emails and their receivers using machine learning and only a limited amount of initial data. The data consists of roughly 1200 emails and 98.000 receivers of these. Initially, the emails are grouped together based on their content using text clustering. READ MORE
