  1. 1. Studies of the axial-vector transition form factors of the process Ω− → W−Ξ0 in chiral perturbation theory

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Kärnfysik

    Author : Hélène De Munck; [2023]
    Keywords : Transition form Factors; Next-to-next-to-leading order; chiral perturbation theory; axial-vector; Ω− → W−Ξ0;

    Abstract : This work is included in a broader research of the hadron theory group of Uppsala University and its collaborators tackling the quest for an understanding of the quark distribution inside hadrons by joining threedifferent approaches of QCD namely chiral perturbation theory, dispersion theory and lattice QCD. This thesis contributes by computing in chiral perturbation theory, the quark-masses dependence of form factors. READ MORE

  2. 2. Fitting the pion and kaon mass and decay constant to lattice data

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation

    Author : Hector Tiblom; [2021]
    Keywords : chiral perturbation theory; lattice QCD; pion mass; kaon mass; decay constant; low-energy QCD; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : We use lattice QCD data to perform a fit of the pion and kaon mass and decay constant to next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) in three-flavor Chiral Perturbation Theory (ChPT). To improve our fits, we make use of finite volume corrections at both one- and two-loop order. This turns out to provide a small but noticeable improvement of our fits. READ MORE

  3. 3. Fitting the three loop pion mass and decay constant to lattice data

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation

    Author : Alexandra Wernersson; [2019]
    Keywords : Chiral Perturbation Theory; Lattice QCD; pion mass; decay constant; three loop fit.; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : We perform a fit to three loop order (NNNLO) in Chiral perturbation theory of the pion mass and decay constant. In particular we investigate if the NNNLO fit is an improvement of the fit to two loop order (NNLO) to lattice QCD data, which was done in a lattice gauge group collaboration. READ MORE

  4. 4. Chiral Perturbation Theory for Neutron-Antineutron Oscillations

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för astronomi och teoretisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation

    Author : Erik Kofoed; [2016]
    Keywords : Neutron-antineutron Oscillations; Baryon Number Violation; Chiral Perturbation Theory; Effective Field Theory; Spurions; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : This thesis treats neutron-antineutron oscillations in the framework of chiral perturbation theory. An effective Lagrangian, using mesons and nucleons as degrees of freedom, is constructed to capture the low-energy behavior of the effective six-quark operators, which is the set of higher dimensional operators that can induce neutron to antineutron transitions at the quark level. 5. 5. The MIT bag-model : Glueball mass spectrum using the MIT bag-model

    University essay from KTH/Teoretisk fysik

    Author : Leo Lagerkvist; Filip Samuelsson; [2015]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This thesis studies the MIT bag-model and derives important equations regarding this model. The masses of the hypothetical glueballs are determined using the MIT bag-model. Five different glueball masses are predicted and the lowest glueball mass is determined to be 0.961 GeV. READ MORE
