  1. 1. Hydrological modelling of a recycling facility and landfill

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära

    Author : Mazen Tawfik; [2022]
    Keywords : Parsimonious approach; Lumped modelling; Surface water; Landfill; Leachate water; Storage reservoirs.; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : A parsimonious lumped model for simulating a catchment composed of a landfill and recycling facility were developed. The modelling results showed an acceptable conformity with the observed values with NSE of 0.54 and R2 of 0.56 in hourly simulations, though the results were characterized by a general underestimation. 2. 2. Modelling of stormwater treatment in biofilters using MIKE+ : Possibilities and limitations

    University essay from KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknik

    Author : Cecile Bouju; [2021]
    Keywords : Biofilter; Raingarden; Stormwater treatment; Stormwater management; Hydrological modelling; MIKE ; ECO Lab; Biofilter; Växtbädd; Dagvattenrening; Dagvattenhantering; Hydrologisk modellering; MIKE ; ECO Lab;

    Abstract : As research has expanded on the environmental impact of stormwater on receiving ecosystems more focus is now being put on the quality issues of stormwater. Biofilters are one of many nature-based solutions that have been developed for that purpose and are also the subject of this study. READ MORE

  3. 3. Using a lumped conceptual hydrological model for five different catchments in Sweden

    University essay from Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi

    Author : Madeleine Ekenberg; [2016]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Hydrological models offer powerful tools for understanding and predicting. In this thesis we havereviewed the advantages and disadvantages of physically based distributed hydrological models andconceptually lumped hydrological models. READ MORE

  4. 4. Simulation of the Paris 1910 flood with a lumped hydrological model: the influence of frozen soil.

    University essay from KTH/Vattendragsteknik

    Author : Yohann Tondu; [2011]
    Keywords : Paris 1910 flood; Lumped hydrological model; Rainfall-Runoff model; Frost;

    Abstract : In 1910, Paris experienced its biggest flood in the 20th century. In 2010, for the anniversary of this event – supposed to happen every 100 years ! – the flood prediction model that is now used on the Seine basin was tested on its simulation,… and failed to reproduce the observed flood volume. 5. 5. Distributed hydrological modelling in a GIS perspective : an evaluation of the MIKE SHE model

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Author : Ulrika Andersson; Daniel Nilsson; [1998]
    Keywords : geography; physical geography; hydrological modelling; GIS; MIKE SHE model; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : The strain on water resources with the increased man-induced environmental changes through water pollution, is creating a growing demand in the understanding and management of complex hydrological systems where both water quality and quantity are concerned. This is beyond the capabilities of lumped models and more advanced tools are needed to predict these effects and hence the need for physically-based distributed hydrological models. READ MORE
