1. Implementing the chirality-flow formalism for tree-level massless QCD in MadGraph
University essay from Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisationAbstract : The chirality-flow formalism provides a simple but efficient way to rewrite and evaluate Feynman diagrams and has recently been shown to also optimize automated numerical scattering matrix element evaluations in massless tree-level QED. In this thesis we extend the numerical QED model to massless tree-level QCD in the MadGraph5_aMC@NLO framework. READ MORE

2. Scattering of Charge Carriers in 2+1-Dimensional Quantum Field Theory
University essay from Karlstads universitet/Institutionen för ingenjörsvetenskap och fysik (from 2013)Abstract : The aim of this thesis is to examine the hard $S$-matrix for QED and QCD, due to Hannesdottir and Schwartz [1], both recreating known results, and finding new results in lower dimensions. Electrons by themselves are not gauge invariant, and in the massless limit do not give finite $S$-matrix elements for individual processes; one needs to add together seemingly arbitrary combinations of diagrams in order to be able to calculate the scattering cross-section. 3. Determination of Proton Beam Waist Positions Using Beam Position Monitors
University essay from Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/European Spallation Source ESS AB; Lunds universitet/SynkrotronljusfysikAbstract : In this work, we examine a novel method for the determination of proton beam waist locations using beam position monitors. Based on the lattice of the final transport line section of the European Spallation Source linac, a simplified version of the beam line composed of quadrupole magnets and correctors is constructed in Python using a matrix formalism. 4. Computation of Effective Local Diffusion Tensor
University essay from KTH/FysikAbstract : Numerical simulations of large complex systems such as biomolecules often suffer from the full description of the system having too many dimensions for direct numerical calculations and Monte Carlo methods having trouble overcoming energy barriers. It is therefore desirable to formulate a description in lower dimension which captures the system’s macroscopic behaviour. READ MORE

5. A numerical implementation of the chirality-flow formalism
University essay from Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för astronomi och teoretisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisationAbstract : The chirality-flow formalism has proven to make amplitude calculations in the Standard Model analytically simple in comparison to previously established formalisms. To test the viability of the chirality-flow formalism for numerical implementations, a Chiral Automized Flow Extension (CAFE) for MadGraph5_aMC@NLO has been developed to compare amplitude evaluation time scaling between the two.
