  1. 1. Performance of 2-18 GHz RF Switches Implemented in Chip & Wire Technology : Analysis of switch topologies, bias networks and an in-depth EM analysis of bondwires

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Gustav Eliasson; [2023]
    Keywords : RF Switch; PIN diode; Chip Wire Technology; Wide Bandwidth; High isolation; Single-Pole-Single-Throw; Single-Pole-Double-Throw RF Switch; PIN diode; Chip Wire Technology; Wide Bandwidth; Single-Pole-SingleThrow; Single-Pole-Double-Throw; RF-omkopplare; PIN-diod; Chip Wire Tekonologi; Bredbandig; Hög isolation; Enkelpolig-enkakast; Enkelpolig-dubbelkast;

    Abstract : The ability to control the path a signal takes through microwave circuitry is crucial when designing RF systems. The component that allows for the control of the signal path is called a switch, and it is the microwave component that this thesis will focus on. READ MORE

  2. 2. Primordial Gravitational Waves and ultra-light Dark Matter in a complex singlet extended Standard Model

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik; Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation

    Author : Sara Wildenor; [2021]
    Keywords : theoretical physics; gravitational waves; dark matter; complex singlet extended standard model; LISA; BBO; DECIGO; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : In this thesis, the consequences of extending the internal symmetries of the standard model with a complex singlet scalar field, are investigated in terms of dark matter phenomenology and the possibility of primordial gravitational wave detection utilizing space based laser interferometry. The scalar potential of the model is constructed with a Z2 symmetry, which allows for the retainment of a linear and a quadratic coupling parameter, as well as a stable dark matter candidate, and an additional non-zero vacuum expectation value for the real component of the scalar field. 3. 3. Low Power Pre-Distorter Design For 5G Radio Using Machine Learning

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik

    Author : Sumeeth Diddigi Kulkarni; Di Wang; [2020]
    Keywords : Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : A Power Amplifier (PA) is an essential electronic component in all microwave and millimeter-wave applications and, more specifically, in any transmitting system where the level of input power signal needs amplification to the desired level.Linearity and high efficiency are of utmost importance in PAs. 4. 4. Analog Front End Development for the Large Hadron Collider Interlock Beam Position Monitor Upgrade

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Oskar Björkqvist; [2019]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The interlock Beam Position Monitor (BPM) system in the Large Hadron Collider(LHC) is responsible for monitoring the particle beam position at the point of thebeam dump kicker magnets and is part of the machine protection system. Thecurrent interlock BPM system has some limitations and because of this, an upgradeproject has been initiated. READ MORE

  5. 5. A Historic Record of Sea Ice Extents from Scatterometer Data

    University essay from KTH/Geoinformatik

    Author : Inès Otosaka; [2017]
    Keywords : sea ice; radar scattering; scatterometer;

    Abstract : Sea ice is a vital component of the cryosphere and does not only influence the polar regions but has a more global influence. Indeed, sea ice plays a major role in the regulation of the global climate system as the sea ice cover reflects the sun radiation back to the atmosphere keeping the polar regions cool. READ MORE
