  1. 1. Beyond Traditional Tomography: X-ray Multi-projection Imaging for Additive Manufacturing

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Synkrotronljusfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Maria Esther Vilar Alvarez; [2023]
    Keywords : X-ray tomography; X-ray multiprojection-imaging; deep learning; additive manufacturing; synchrotron radiation; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to push the limits of 3D X-ray imaging by studying the minimum number of projections required to retrieve high-quality reconstructions for additive manufacturing processes. This project first focuses on understanding how X-ray tomography works, by reconstructing additive manufacturing data already obtained (from PSI, TOMCAT beamline) using two standard reconstruction algorithms, GRIDREC and SIRT. 2. 2. Fatigue Life Prediction of a Topology-Optimised Polyamide-12 Part Manufactured with Multi-Jet Fusion Technology

    University essay from KTH/Lättkonstruktioner, marina system, flyg- och rymdteknik, rörelsemekanik

    Author : Shylesh Mahendran; [2022]
    Keywords : Fatigue Life; Topology Optimisation; Polyamide-12; PA12; Trötthetsliv; Topologioptimering; Polyamid-12; PA12;

    Abstract : Additive manufacturing methods has been prevailing for several decades and the recent technological advancements brings in the flexibility and consideration for large-scale production in the industries. The components manufactured with these methods have wide variety of applications and therefore, it is crucial to investigate the mechanical performance of the printed parts. READ MORE

  3. 3. Simulation of load capacity of 3D printed concrete patterns

    University essay from KTH/Betongbyggnad

    Author : Magnus Burton; Karolina Näsén; [2022]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Three-dimensional concrete printing (3DCP) is a technology which has rapidly developed in recent years. The technology is based on a layer-by-layer technique where models are designed in a 3D software program and printed by a robot. Unlike conventional concrete, 3DCP has stricter material requirements due to the absence of formwork. READ MORE

  4. 4. Multicolor 3D printing : An analysis of the characteristics of multicolor 3Dprinting

    University essay from KTH/Mekatronik

    Author : Davron Patkhullaev; Yonas Melake; [2021]
    Keywords : Mechatronics; 3D printer; Arduino Mega; Diamond Hotend; Marlin; Mekatronik; 3D printer; Arduino Mega; Diamond Hotend; Marlin;

    Abstract : 3D printing has risen in popularity due to its capabilities which enable rapid prototyping and printing structures that were impossible to produce before and partially because of technological development in recent years. Most low-cost printers, based on the fused filament fabrication process, are capable of printing a single filament at a time that limits and complicates multicolor and multi-material 3D printing. 5. 5. Design Upgrades, Reliability Testing and Implementation of Engineering Grade Thermoplastics in Prusa MMU2s

    University essay from Jönköping University/JTH, Material och tillverkning

    Author : Ajith Kannoth; [2020]
    Keywords : 3D printing; Prusa; Multi material printing; Engineering grade thermoplastics;

    Abstract : This paper studies the two aspects of current problems that plagues the Prusa i3 MK3sprinters in possession of JTH and how to resolve them; to be able to get a reliable printoutputs from engineering grade materials apart from conventional materials like PLAand PETG. The second aspect being the implementation of multi material module 2. READ MORE
