  1. 1. Modified train wheel wear calculation for fast calculation

    University essay from KTH/Spårfordon

    Author : Shaoyao Chen; [2021]
    Keywords : Precise contact point detection; Material Flexibility; Multiple contact points detection; Winkler theory; wear calculation; fast calculation; Exakt detektion av kontaktpunkter; materialflexibilitet; detektering av flera kontaktpunkter; Winkler-teori; förslitningsberäkning; snabb beräkning;

    Abstract : In this thesis, a modified wear calculation method is developed to calculate the train wheel wear, which can give less precise but faster results compared to the classic wear calculation method. This modified method is developed based on the classic wear calculation method developed by Jendel, which uses Hertz theory and Kalker’s simplified theory to calculate the contact variables and uses Achard theory to calculate the wear volume in an iterative manner. 2. 2. The impact of forensic specialists on the expectation gap: A multiple case study on the Big 4 forensic service departments' influence on auditors in Sweden

    University essay from Handelshögskolan i Stockholm/Institutionen för redovisning och finansiering

    Author : Emmelie Johansson; Liselotte Brännström; [2016]
    Keywords : Expectation gap; Fraud detection; Forensic services; Institutional theory;

    Abstract : It has long been a problem for the audit profession that what the public expects from an audit differs from what the auditors themselves would prefer the audit objectives to be. This dilemma is commonly known as the expectation gap. One area where the gap is highly prevalent is when it comes to the auditors' ability and duty to detect fraud. READ MORE

  3. 3. GPU Usage for Parallel Functions and Contacts in Modelica

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för datavetenskap

    Author : Vilhelm Roxling; Axel Goteman; [2015]
    Keywords : Arbitrary Shapes; Collision Response; Auto-generation; Collision Detection; Modelica; GPU; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : This thesis investigates two ways of incorporating GPUs in Modelica. The first by automatically generating GPU code for Modelica functions, and the second by using GPU accelerated external code for a contact handling package. Automatic parallelization of functions is desired, as it can potentially accelerate large simulations significantly. READ MORE
