  1. 1. Establishment of a deep learning algorithm for dosimetry of radiopharmaceuticals

    University essay from

    Author : Dennis Lipnicevic; [2022-01-13]
    Keywords : Medical physics; automated segmentation; dosimetry; kidney; nuclear medicine dosimetry; deep learning; convolutional neural network;

    Abstract : Purpose: The aim of this study was to introduce a volumetric convolutional neural network for segmentation of the kidneys in SPECT images and to apply it in the dosimetry of radiopharmaceuticals of this organ, in order to decrease segmentation time and to standardize the segmentation of the kidneys. Method: Three networks were trained using two network architectures and a total of 216 retrospectively collected images from patients that underwent imaging procedures at Sahlgrenska University Hospital between 2009 and 2018. 2. 2. Fast Simulations of Radio Neutrino Detectors : Using Generative Adversarial Networks and Artificial Neural Networks

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Högenergifysik

    Author : Anton Holmberg; [2022]
    Keywords : Askaryan emission; Radio detection of neutrinos; in-ice propagation; neutrino; Generative adversarial networks; GAN; WGAN; Neural networks; NN; surrogate model; IceCube; deep learning; generative model;

    Abstract : Neutrino astronomy is expanding into the ultra-high energy (>1017eV) frontier with the use of in-ice detection of Askaryan radio emission from neutrino-induced particle showers. There are already pilot arrays for validating the technology and the next few years will see the planning and construction of IceCube-Gen2, an upgrade to the current neutrino telescope IceCube. 3. 3. Estimation of Height, Weight, Sex and Age from Magnetic Resonance Images using 3D Convolutional Neural Networks

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för medicinsk teknik

    Author : Carl Nimhed; [2022]
    Keywords : mr; magnetic resonance; machine learning; deep learning;

    Abstract : Magnetic resonance imagining is a non-invasive 3D imaging technology widely used in the medical field for partial and full body scans. AMRA Medical AB is a medical company which combines MRI images with additional patient attributes such as height, weight, sex and age to perform analysis such as body composition profiling. 4. 4. Solving Differential Equations using Data-Driven Adaptive Numerical Method

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för teknikvetenskap (SCI)

    Author : William Nguyen; Sirui Li; [2022]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Accuracy and efficiency have always been of great concern when solving differential equations. One approach to improve accuracy is by introducing a neural network, whose role is to learn the local truncation error (LTE) of a numerical method. READ MORE

  5. 5. Automatic Quality Assessment of Dermatology Images : A Comparison Between Machine Learning and Hand-Crafted Algorithms

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Datorseende

    Author : Hasseli Zahra; Anwia Odisho Raamen; [2022]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : In recent years, pictures from handheld devices such as smartphones have been increasingly utilized as a documentation tool by medical practitioners not trained to take professional photographs. Similarly to the other types of image modalities, the images should be taken in a way to capture the vital information in the region of interest. READ MORE
