  1. 1. Increasing Reproducibility Through Provenance, Transparency and Reusability in a Cloud-Native Application for Collaborative Machine Learning

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Avdelningen för datorteknik

    Author : Adam Ekström Hagevall; Carl Wikström; [2021]
    Keywords : Machine Learning; MLOps; STACKn; Reproducibility; Replicability; Provenance; Transparency; Reusability; Kubernetes; Cloud-Native; Open Source; Software Engineering;

    Abstract : The purpose of this thesis paper was to develop new features in the cloud-native and open-source machine learning platform STACKn, aiming to strengthen the platform's support for conducting reproducible machine learning experiments through provenance, transparency and reusability. Adhering to the definition of reproducibility as the ability of independent researchers to exactly duplicate scientific results with the same material as in the original experiment, two concepts were explored as alternatives for this specific goal: 1) Increased support for standardized textual documentation of machine learning models and their corresponding datasets; and 2) Increased support for provenance to track the lineage of machine learning models by making code, data and metadata readily available and stored for future reference. 2. 2. OPC UA Field eXchange Prototyping : Enabling decentralized communication using Publish/Subscribe

    University essay from Högskolan i Halmstad/Akademin för informationsteknologi

    Author : Samuel Andreasson; Jesper Palmér; [2021]
    Keywords : Publish Subscribe; PubSub; FLC; FX; OPC; UA; OPC UA; industrial protocol; IIoT; interoperability; open-source; open62541;

    Abstract : Open Platform Communication Unified Architecture, or OPC UA, is a world-leading communication protocol specializing in unifying and automating production systems communication. In 2018 the OPC Foundation, an industrial consortium, started the OPC UA Field eXchange initiative to develop the current protocol to extend the reach of the communication down to field level devices like sensors and actuators. 3. 3. NB-IoT Coverage : Development of a measuring instrument for NB-IoT

    University essay from Karlstads universitet/Fakulteten för hälsa, natur- och teknikvetenskap (from 2013)

    Author : Albin Blom; [2021]
    Keywords : NB-IoT; Mobile; IoT;

    Abstract : This report is an exposition of the development of a measuring instrument whosetask is to map the physical coverage of the NB-IoT network. The measuringinstrument was developed on TietoEvry's initiative, as it was in their interest to obtaina measuring instrument that can be used to map the coverage in parts of VarmlandsNB-IoT network. 4. 4. Evaluation of Peridynamics and Its Application in Harmonic-Structured Material Simulations

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Mekanik

    Author : Theodor de Sousa; [2020]
    Keywords : peridynamics; peridigm; harmonic-structured materials; computational mechanics; fracture modelling; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Materials are constantly sought to be improved in different manners. Two of the most common characteristics to improve are strength, and ductility. Historically, materials are modified homogeneously to achieve improvement, while the past century has also seen composite materials becoming standard-issue within various industries. READ MORE
