  1. 11. Defining The Geochemical Footprint For Gold Mineralisation Around Birthday Reef.Reefton Goldfield, New Zealand

    University essay from Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för geologiska vetenskaper

    Author : Jonathan Hamisi; [2016]
    Keywords : Orogenic gold; hydrothermal alteration; Reefton; mass changes; geochemical footprint; vectors; exploration; Blackwater;

    Abstract : Abstract Orogenic gold deposits from the Reefton goldfield in New Zealand hosted in Ordovician metasediments of the Greenland group have produce 67 tons of gold before 1951. The Blackwater mine in Waiuta account for about 1/3 of the gold production at Reefton prior 1951. READ MORE

  2. 12. Cambrian stratigraphy and depositional dynamics based on the Tomten-1 drill core, Falbygden, Västergötland, Sweden

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Author : Frans Lundberg; [2016]
    Keywords : biostratigraphy; Sweden; Västergötland; drill core; agnostoids; trilobites; δ13 excursion DICE ; Cambrian; carbon isotope stratigraphy; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : The Tomten-1 drilling at Torbjörntorp in Västergötland, southern Sweden, penetrated 29.85 m of Cambrian Series 2 and 3, Furongian, and Lower and Middle Ordovician strata. The biostratigraphy, sedimentology and carbon isotope (δ[sup]13[/sup]C[sub]org[/sub]) stratigraphy of the core have been analysed. READ MORE

  3. 13. Lower to Middle Ordovician carbonate sedimentology and stratigraphy of the Pakri peninsula, north-western Estonia

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Keywords : berggrundsgeologi; ordovicium; baltoskandiska grundhavet; havsnivå; kalksten; glaukonit hårdbottnar.; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : Sedimentologi och stratigrafi från senaste tidiga ordovicium till och med mellanordovicium i nordvästra Estland har undersökts. Studien omfattar klippsektioner och Testepere stenbrott på Pakrihalvön, samt en vägskärning utanför staden Tabasalu strax väster om Tallinn. READ MORE

  4. 14. The life cycle and developmental phases of Cambrian-Ordovician organic-walled microfossils from Kolguev Island, Arctic Russia.

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Author : Magdalena Pazio; [2016]
    Keywords : Saharidia fragilis; Prasinophyceae algae; life cycle; acritarchs; Saharidia fragilis; Prasinophyceae; livscykel; acritarch;

    Abstract : Light microscopy studies of collections of late Cambrian/Early Ordovician organic-walled microfossils, informally called acritarchs, provide the observations on phenotypic traits that are comparable to Modern microalgae and make possible recognition of various developmental stages in their complex life cycle. The exceptionally preserved Saharidia fragilis microfossils show the internal body within the vesicle and the formation of the fringe and pylome, the opening for releasing of the daughter cells from the phycoma-like cyst. 5. 15. Sedimentology and carbon isotope stratigraphy of Lower–Middle Ordovician successions of Slemmestad (Oslo-Asker, Norway) and Brunflo (Jämtland, Sweden)

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Author : Olof Peterffy; [2015]
    Keywords : Ordovician; carbon isotope stratigraphy; Baltoscandia; MDICE; ’Blommiga bladet’; ’Blodläget’; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : Lower through Middle Ordovician strata are described with respect to sedimentology and carbon isotope stratigraphy from two areas, viz. two outcrops at Slemmestad in the Oslo-Asker district of southern Norway and a core section from the Brunflo area in Jämtland, central Sweden.
