  1. 1. Observing phase changes in real time on ultrathin Iron oxide surfaces

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Synkrotronljusfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Harald Wallander; [2019]
    Keywords : CO oxidation; platinum; iron oxides; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : Studying catalysts under such non-equilibrium conditions is a step towards approaching more realistic reaction conditions for working catalysts. Reactivity during phase changes of ultra-thin FeO2 films grown on Pt(111) are studied in situ with Ambient Pressure X-ray Photo Emission Spectroscopy and Quadrupole Mass Spectrometry, while running the CO oxidation reaction at 160°C and 0:6 mbar. 2. 2. Probabilistic ecological risk assessment of secondary poisoning from DDT

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Miljövetenskaplig utbildning

    Author : Alice Rundegren; [2019]
    Keywords : probabilistisk riskbedömning; toppredatorer; DDT; diklordifenyltrikloretan; plantskola; skogsplantskola; artkänslighetsfördelning; bioackumulering; förorenad mark; indirekt exponering; Monte Carlo simulering; probabilistic risk assessment; plant nursery; species sensitivity distribution; polluted soil; indirect exposure; bioaccumulation; Monte Carlo simulation; dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : Although prohibited since decades, dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT) and its metabolites still remain in the soil and pose a threat to ecosystems, where especially birds are susceptible to toxic effects. In this thesis, a model developed in the 1990s was used and updated in order to estimate the risks of DDT to top predators at a forest-plant nursery site. READ MORE

  3. 3. Sulfur poisoning and regeneration of copper zeolites for NH3-SCR : Effect of SO2/SO3 ratio

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Kemiteknik

    Author : Åsa Högström; [2018]
    Keywords : Cu-zeolites; Ammonia-SCR; Sulfur poisoning; Regeneration; Kinetic model;

    Abstract : The road transportation is a big source for the release of NOx emissions. NOx has been confirmed to cause negative affect on the air-quality especially in the urban areas, there are therefore regulations for allowed released amount from vehicles. READ MORE

  4. 4. The effect of groundwater extraction on nitrate vulnerable recharge areas (NFI) in Denmark. MIKE SHE simulations of different extraction scenarios.

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Teknisk geologi; Lunds universitet/Väg- och vattenbyggnad (CI)

    Author : Sophie Gruschka; [2018]
    Keywords : Groundwater modelling; MIKE SHE; Nitrate vulnerability; NFI; Brokilde; Halsnæs; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : This thesis aims to outline the effect of different abstraction scenarios on the extent of nitrate vulnerable recharge area (NFI) in two study areas in Denmark. NFI were designated in order to protect vulnerable groundwater resources from nitrate pollution, where the geology overlying the aquifers does not serve as a sufficient barrier. READ MORE

  5. 5. Variation av kobolt, selen och koppar inom och mellan fårbesättningar i Uppland

    University essay from SLU/Dept. of Animal Nutrition and Management

    Author : Elin Sundström; [2018]
    Keywords : lamm; leverprover;

    Abstract : Poisoning and deficiency of different microminerals occurs in Swedish sheep herds. Some breeds are more sensitive than others to suffer due to various metabolic functions. Another reason for deficiency or poisoning may be insufficient feeding space. READ MORE
