  1. 1. Development of alkaline earth metal-based, metal-organic frameworks for greenhouse gas sorption

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för materialvetenskap

    Author : Ali Maghsoodpoor; [2022]
    Keywords : Metal-organic Framework; gas sorption;

    Abstract : Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) constructed from metal atoms connected by organic linkers have received extensive attention for greenhouse gas separation in the past decades. Moreover, their large surface area makes them a promising candidate as adsorbents for gas sorption. READ MORE

  2. 2. Nanoscale characterisation of model Ni-Mo catalyst active phases

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Centrum för analys och syntes

    Author : Jonas Elmroth Nordlander; [2022]
    Keywords : Ni-Mo catalysts; Hydrodeoxygenation; TEM; PXRD; Materials chemistry; Chemistry;

    Abstract : An important stepping stone in transitioning from a fossil-fuel based transportation system is the production of bio-fuels such as bio-oils. For bio-oils to be commercially viable, catalytic upgrading via hydrodeoxygenation is required, typically using Ni-Mo oxide or sulfide catalysts. READ MORE

  3. 3. Development of covalent organic frameworks for energy storage applications : DAAQ-TFP COF and MXene composite electrodes for proton cycling

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Nanoteknologi och funktionella material

    Author : Simanjit Singh; [2022]
    Keywords : covalent organic framework; DAAQ-TFP; MXene; composite electrodes; 1 3 5-Triformylphloroglucinol; 2 6-Diaminoanthraquinone; nanosheets; exfoliation; ex-situ; Ti3C2Tx;

    Abstract : The demand for today's material resources for energy storage is rapidly increasing and can result in both environmental and political conflicts that can affect the development of electronic devices due to high prices and limitations of raw materials for batteries. In this study, potential future composite electrodes were synthesised with an ex-situ approach by compositing redox-active 2,6-Diaminoanthraquinone and 1,3,5-Triformylphloroglucinol covalent organic framework (DAAQ-TFP COF) with conductive delaminated Ti3C2Tx MXene to maximise the number of redox-active moieties during cycling. 4. 4. Linker substitution in ZIF-8 and its effect on the selective uptake of the greenhouse gases CH4, CO2 and SF6

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Nanoteknologi och funktionella material

    Author : Daniel Hedbom; [2021]
    Keywords : ZIF-8 hybridization; Porous materials; GHG capture;

    Abstract : In this master thesis project, attempts were made to synthesize, pore size tailor, and characterize ZIF-8 and several mixed-linker ZIF structures to improve capture of the greenhouse gasses CH4, CO2, and SF6. Three experimental linkers, 2-methylbenzimidazole, 2-aminobenzimidazole, and 5-nitrobenzimidazole were chosen to gradually substitute 2-methylimidazole as the linker in ZIF-8. READ MORE

  5. 5. Reactivity and photochemistry of copper halide complexes

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Author : Needa Athitaya Wicksell Chuainukun; [2021]
    Keywords : Photochemistry; Copper iodide complexes; Substituted pyridines; Thin films; Luminescence lifetime;

    Abstract : This paper deals with 3-picoline, 4-picoline, 3,4-lutidine and 3,5-lutidine complexes of copper(I) iodide (CuI(3-pic), CuI(4-pic), CuI(3,4-lut) and (CuI(3,5-lut)). The experimental investigation was divided into several parts. Firstly, the synthesis and characterization of the compounds both as powder and as thin films. READ MORE
