    Abstract : This thesis aims at evaluating a couple of recently developed strategies for modeling the spot price of electricity. We use a structural modeling approach to model the fundamental behavior of total system load combined with separate models for wind- and solar energy infeed, connected to a number of supply functions to estimate the spot price from the system load.
