  1. 1. Tribological and Mechanical Behaviour of 3D Printed Polymeric Bearings

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för teknikvetenskap och matematik

    Author : Sallar Ali Qazi; [2021]
    Keywords : Additive manufacturing; Rapid prototyping; 3D-Printing; Fused Filament Fabrication FFF ; Fused Deposition Modeling FDM ; Tribology; polyoxymethylene POM ;

    Abstract : Plastics contribute 2 GTons to the global carbon footprint, today, several countries have set targets to achieve carbon neutrality. Plastics, being a major contributor to global carbon footprint, would need to be reduced significantly from our daily life to achieve that or a way needs to be devised to recycle them. READ MORE

  2. 2. Determination of Polyoxymethylene (POM) : Water Partition Coefficients for Alkylated Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons by Use of GC/MS

    University essay from Örebro universitet/Institutionen för naturvetenskap och teknik

    Author : Malin Bergman; [2016]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Methods to measure the concentration of freely dissolved PAHs in pore water have been developed and are based on the usage of passive samplers, in this case polyoxymethylene (POM). Spiked samples (containing PAHs with 4-5 rings, methylated PAHs with 2-5 rings and dibenzothiophenes in three different concentrations) were placed on an end-over-end shaker for 28 days, to obtain equilibrium between the amount of PAHs accumulated on the POM strips and the amount of PAHs freely dissolved in the water. 3. 3. Towards the measurement of two independent viscoelastic functions using spherical indentation

    University essay from KTH/Hållfasthetslära (Inst.)

    Author : Hassan Mohammad; [2016]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Instrumented indentation is a promising testing technique for obtaining the time dependent viscoelastic properties of bitumen and bitumen-based mastics. It offers several advantages: controlling the length scale of measurement and thus could be used in multi-scale modelling of asphalt, the possibility of in-situ tests and the minimal requirements of sample preparation. 4. 4. Spreading of persistent organic pollutants from fiber bank sediments

    University essay from SLU/Dept. of Aquatic Sciences and Assessment

    Author : Lisa Vogel; [2015]
    Keywords : persistent organic pollutants; PCB; DDT; HCB; fiber bank; paper and pulp; POM; log Kd; bioaccumulation; pore water concentration; Marenzelleria spp.; Saduria entomon;

    Abstract : Discharge of untreated wastewater from paper and pulp industries have led to large environmental impacts on the coastal sediments in Västernorrland, Sweden. Dissolved fibers caused the formation of large fiber banks and fiber influenced sediment areas, which proved to be highly affected by contamination with persistent organic pollutants (POPs). 5. 5. DEVELOPMENT OF A MODEL OF THE DEGRADATION OF THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF POLYOXYMETHYLENE (POM) IN THE PRESENCE OF BIODIESEL

    University essay from Högskolan i Skövde/Institutionen för ingenjörsvetenskap

    Author : Adriano Linero Jiménez; [2014]
    Keywords : Aging; Polyoxymethylene; Diffusion; Biodiesel;

    Abstract : This project analyses the impact in the mechanical properties of Polyoxymethylene (POM) of three different blends of biodiesels: B0 with 0% of Rapeseed Methyl-ester (RME), B20 with 20% of RME and B100 with 100% of RME. Polyoxymethylene specimens have been subjected to an accelerated aging during 1600 hours at 85ºC. READ MORE
