  1. 1. Circular Economy in Commercial Real Estate A Study of the Design Process for Increased Reuse in Redevelopment Projects

    University essay from

    Author : IDA HOLMÉN; SIMON ANGERVALL; [2023-08-16T11:05:22Z 2023-08-16T11:05:22Z 2023 2023]
    Keywords : Circular Economy in Commercial Real Estate A Study of the Design Process for Increased Reuse in Redevelopment Projects;

    Abstract : The building and construction industry is currently one of the industries with themost significant environmental impact. It is responsible for roughly 100 billion tonsof waste yearly. READ MORE

  2. 2. Circular economy of spare parts and data-driven analytics - “Unlocking Sustainable Value: Analyzing Buyback Policy Circularity Performance in Volvo Group’s Reverse Supply Chain - A Renault Trucks Case Study”

    University essay from Göteborgs universitet/Graduate School

    Author : Vladyslav Zahladko; [2023-07-20]
    Keywords : closed-loop supply chain; reverse logistics; buyback policy; circular economy; performance measurement; supply chain analytics;

    Abstract : To address the current environmental challenges, companies are steadily shifting from a linear to a circular model in their daily operations. This process implies supplementing the traditional forward logistics with a reverse flow, enabling the reuse, remanufacturing, and recycling of existing products. READ MORE

  3. 3. Relationship between waste management in student accommodation and students' knowledge of waste management in relation to energy transition

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Author : Yong Lin; [2023]
    Keywords : Sustainable Development; Energy Transition; Waste Management; Waste Sorting; Pearson’s correlation coefficient; Student Accommodation;

    Abstract : In the context of the current energy transition and sustainable development, the promotion of waste separation and waste management is a good means of promoting the energy transition. Waste, when recycled, can contribute to the energy transition in many ways, for example by generating electricity, heating, recycling into raw materials for reuse and producing biofuels. READ MORE

  4. 4. Computationally Efficient Explainable AI: Bayesian Optimization for Computing Multiple Counterfactual Explanantions

    University essay from KTH/Matematik (Avd.)

    Author : Giorgio Sacchi; [2023]
    Keywords : Explainable AI; Counterfactual Explanations CFEs ; Bayesian Optimization BO ; Black-Box Models; Model-Agnostic; Machine Learning ML ; Efficient Computation; High-Stake Decisions; Förklarbar AI; Kontrafaktuell Förklaring CFE ; Bayesiansk Optimering BO ; Svarta lådmodeller; Modellagnostisk; Maskininlärning; Beräkningsmässigt Effektiv; Beslut med höga insatser;

    Abstract : In recent years, advanced machine learning (ML) models have revolutionized industries ranging from the healthcare sector to retail and E-commerce. However, these models have become increasingly complex, making it difficult for even domain experts to understand and retrace the model's decision-making process. READ MORE

  5. 5. A Conjugate Residual Solver with Kernel Fusion for massive MIMO Detection

    University essay from Högskolan i Halmstad/Centrum för forskning om tillämpade intelligenta system (CAISR)

    Author : Ioannis Broumas; [2023]
    Keywords : MIMO; massive MIMO; GPU; CUDA; Software Defined Radio; SDR; MMSE; ZF; zero-forcing; parallel detection; iterative methods; conjugate residual; parallel computing; kernel fusion;

    Abstract : This thesis presents a comparison of a GPU implementation of the Conjugate Residual method as a sequence of generic library kernels against implementations ofthe method with custom kernels to expose the performance gains of a keyoptimization strategy, kernel fusion, for memory-bound operations which is to makeefficient reuse of the processed data. For massive MIMO the iterative solver is to be employed at the linear detection stageto overcome the computational bottleneck of the matrix inversion required in theequalization process, which is 𝒪(𝑛3) for direct solvers.
