6. On the Energy Dependence of Parameters in PYTHIA8 Heavy-ion Collision Simulations
University essay from Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisationAbstract : Particle collisions are an essential component to the research methodology of particle physics. These investigations are not only conducted in experimental laboratories but also through programs such as PYTHIA that simulate a collision or ``event" and then compare its results to known experimental data. 7. Geometry studies of high energy 16O collisions
University essay from Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisationAbstract : In this project a model of oxygen, 16O, nuclei, where the nucleons are organised in α-clusters, was implemented in the Pythia Monte Carlo event generator. To study the effects of the new model, some observables, such as the distribution of the number of the wounded nucleons, charged particle multiplicity in the forward and central pseudorapidity region, and the pseudorapidity distribution for different centrality bins and eccentricity, are compared to the model originally implemented in Pythia (Woods-Saxon). 8. Projections for charm balance functions in heavy-ion collisions
University essay from Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenAbstract : In this thesis, pp collisions were simulated using PYTHIA. D+ D- and D0 D0bar balance functions were created in order to contribute with a reference point for future balance functions measured in real data from Pb-Pb collisions. READ MORE

9. Studies of Dark Showers for Present and Future Colliders
University essay from Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenAbstract : In this work we explore a strongly-interacting dark sector with a Z’ portal to the Standard Model. We focus on the dark shower phenomenology and their semi-visible jet signatures with a strong emphasis on first principles of the theory. READ MORE

10. Understanding Rt using two-particle correlations by simulating proton-proton collisions in a Monte-Carlo model
University essay from Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenAbstract : The observable Rt is investigated in the Monte Carlo Model Pythia in order to better understand results from experimental data obtained in the ALICE detector at CERN. The purpose is to reproduce the experiment in a simulation and use the features proposed by Pythia to dig into the unexpected outcomes. READ MORE
