  1. 1. Multiple-Emitter Super-resolution Imaging using the Alternating Descent Conditional Gradient Method

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Beräkningsbiologi och biologisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för astronomi och teoretisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation

    Author : Dolev Illouz; [2023]
    Keywords : super-resolution; alternating descent conditional gradient method; ADCG; multiple-emitter localization; nanoscale imaging; single molecule tracking; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : This thesis examines the state-of-the-art 2D super-resolution technique alternating descent conditional gradient (ADCG) method's ability to accurately localize fluorophores in diffraction-limited single molecule images (SMI) and analyze the impact of pre-processing and post-processing modules on ADCG's fluorophore localization. A synthetic dataset obtained from the 2013 Grand Challenge localization microscopy and a temporally linked dataset obtained from an unpublished set of Optical DNA mapping experiments performed by Jonathan Jeffet at the NanoBioPhotonix Lab at Tel-Aviv University were initially segmented to extract their noise parameters. 2. 2. CRISPR-Drawr, a tool to design mutagenic primer

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildning

    Author : Larsson Torbjörn; [2023]
    Keywords : Integrated CRISPR design; new score method; short open reading frames; functional screening; bioinformatics;

    Abstract : Short open reading frames (sORFs) are codon sequences with a start and stop codon within atmost 100 codons. Cells produce many transcripts from them and some sORFs have been found to have function. sORFs have been associated with embryogenesis, myogenesis, immunity and various diseases including cancers. 3. 3. Pseudomonas aeruginosa gene expression analysis using pangenome and PAO1 reference genomes

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Examensarbeten i bioinformatik

    Author : Yi Su; [2023]
    Keywords : Biology and Life Sciences;

    Abstract : Development in sequencing technologies has made the analyses of genetic material much more accessible. Processing sequenced data for an accurate analysis comes with its challenges, especially with the studies in microbial in clinical in vivo samples where difficulties in the collection of these samples for sequencing could lower the quality and contamination from the human host which might affect the accuracy of downstream analysis. 4. 4. Image-Based Classification Solutions for Robust Automated Molecular Biology Labs

    University essay from KTH/Medicinteknik och hälsosystem

    Author : Arnold Teo; [2023]
    Keywords : Neural networks; Deep learning; Transfer learning; TensorFlow; Single-cell genomics; Image classification; Neurala nätverk; Djupinlärning; Överförd inlärning; TensorFlow; Enskild cellgenomik; Bildklassificering;

    Abstract : Single-cell genomics (SCG) are methods for investigating heterogeneity between biological cells, among these is Smart-seq which sequences from RNA molecules. A more recent version of this method is Smart-seq3xpress which is currently in the process of being automated by the Sandberg lab at Karolinska Institutet. READ MORE

  5. 5. Investigating the expression and function of RNA-binding protein FUBL-1 in C. elegans

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildning

    Author : Védís Mist Eyju Agnadóttir; [2023]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : RNA interference (RNAi) is an important mechanism of gene silencing in Caenorhabditis elegans, in which short RNAs direct sequence-specific silencing of gene expression mediated by Argonaute proteins. RNAi in C. READ MORE
