  1. 1. Study on Decolorization of Reactive-dyed Cotton through Fenton-oxidation as a Pre-treatment for Textile Recycling

    University essay from Högskolan i Borås/Akademin för textil, teknik och ekonomi

    Author : Elise Meurs; [2023]
    Keywords : Fenton-oxidation; advanced oxidation processes; decolorization; textile recycling; cotton; reactive dye;

    Abstract : In this master thesis, the feasibility of Fenton-oxidation for the decolorization of reactive dyed cotton is investigated as a potentially environmental-friendly preparatory treatment for mechanical/chemical recycling. Raw, knitted cotton is dyed with a black and a blue dye, whereafter preliminary tests are performed to investigate the influence of increasing Fenton- solution concentrations and different iron-sources on the efficiency of the discoloration, without carrying out complete optimization of the process-parameters. 4. 4. More than meets the dye : a textile design exploration of combining fibre-specific dyeing and structural weaving to create a multidimensional fabric

    University essay from Akademin för textil, teknik och ekonomi

    Author : Saga Nilsson; [2015]
    Keywords : Textile design; textile fiber; weaving; dyeing; structure; material; sustainable design;

    Abstract : This project explores the combination of a woven structure consisting of different fibers with dyeing to create a multidimensional woven textile capable of altering in expression. This project aims to show how a designer can work with fibre-specific dyeing and multiple fibers in a woven textile and the many possibilities this lends in a design process. READ MORE

  5. 5. Phosphorus Removal and Methylene Blue Adsorption by Porous Calcium Silicate Hydrate.

    University essay from KTH/Mark- och vattenteknik

    Author : Asanka Welagedara; [2013]
    Keywords : Absol; Batch experiment; Sorption capacity; Adsorption kinetic; ;

    Abstract : Nutrients (nitrogen and phosphorus) should be removed and recycled from wastewater in order to reduce the nutrient load to recipient waters, avoiding contamination of groundwater and conserve resources. There is a need to pay more attention to phosphorus (P) removal and recycling from wastewater due to limited availability of phosphorus recourses. READ MORE
