  1. 1. Trainable Region of Interest Prediction: Hard Attention Framework for Hardware-Efficient Event-Based Computer Vision Neural Networks on Neuromorphic Processors

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik

    Author : Cina Arjmand; [2023]
    Keywords : Artifical Intelligence; Machine Learning; Neuromorphic Engineering; Computer Vision; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Neuromorphic processors are a promising new type of hardware for optimizing neural network computation using biologically-inspired principles. They can effectively leverage information sparsity such as in images from event-based cameras, and are well-adapted to processing event-based data in an energy-efficient fashion. READ MORE

  2. 2. Analysis of polyfunctional thiols in beer : Developing a novel method of extraction and analysis using GC-FID

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Livsmedelsteknik och nutrition (master)

    Author : Arvid Lindmark; [2022]
    Keywords : Beer; Hops; Thiols; 3MHA; 4MMP; Food Technology; Agriculture and Food Sciences;

    Abstract : In this project, attempts were made to identify and quantify two polyfunctional thiols – 4-mercapto-4-methyl-pentanone and 3-mercaptohexyl acetate – and three monoterpene alcohols – linalool, geraniol, and β-citronellol – in beer samples. In order to avoid the use of hazardous compounds such as dichloromethane and hydroxymercuriobenzoate, common in traditional methods, two novel techniques were tested: a pure liquid-liquid extraction of the beer samples with cyclohexane, and a liquid-liquid extraction with cyclohexane followed by solid phase extraction on silver ion columns. 3. 3. Probabilistic Analysis of Brake Noise : A Hierarchical Multi-fidelity Statistical Approach

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Mekanik och hållfasthetslära

    Author : Sreedhar Venkatesan; Hariprasad Banglore Hanumantha Raju; [2018]
    Keywords : Uncertainty and variability; probabilistic analysis; hierarchicalmultifidelity statistical approach; probability of design failure; creep groan;

    Abstract : Computer Aided Engineering driven analysis is gaining grounds in automotive industry. Prediction of brake noise using CAE techniques has become populardue to its overall low cost as compared to physical testing. READ MORE

  4. 4. Developing a technique for combining light and ultrasound for deep tissue imaging

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Atomfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Meng Li; [2018]
    Keywords : UOT; Ultrasound Optical Tomography; Monte Carlo; TCSPC; PTOF; Photon time of flight; Ultrasound; US; AOT; Acousto-optical tomography; Spectral hole burning; SHB; ultrasound modulation; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : Biological tissues are strongly light-scattering and absorbing media that limit the depth of optical-based imaging. Even though, optical imaging provides good optical contrast information of biological content that is beneficial for clinical diagnostics application. READ MORE

  5. 5. Using remote sensing and aerial archaeology to detect pit house features in Worldview-2 satellite imagery. : A case study for the Bridge River archaeological pit house village in south-central British Columbia, Canada.

    University essay from Högskolan i Gävle/Samhällsbyggnad, GIS

    Author : Sarah Cooke; [2017]
    Keywords : Remote Sensing; Aerial Archaeology; Pit House Archaeology; Geographic Information Systems GIS ; Satellite Imagery;

    Abstract : It is well known that archaeological sites are important sources for understanding past human activity. However, those sites yet to be identified and further investigated are under a great risk of being lost or damaged before their archaeological significance is fully recognized. READ MORE
