  1. 1. An Analysis of Spatially-enabled Mobile Decision Support Systems in a Collaborative Decision-Making Environment

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Author : Mark Overton; [2022]
    Keywords : Geography; GIS; multi criteria decision analysis; mobile decision support system; route optimization; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : The effectiveness of decision-making processes has been enhanced by integrating multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) and geographic information system (GIS) methods to solve more complex spatial problems that were not possible to solve using conventional GIS methods. A spatial decision support system (SDSS) supports various stakeholders in the decision-making process, by processing data using GIS-MCDA methods. READ MORE

  2. 2. A Case Study to develop and test GIS/SDSS methods to assess the production capacity of a Cocoa Site in Trinidad and Tobago

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Keywords : geography; GIS; MCA; Fuzzy; AHP; cocoa; SDSS; crop; management; climate; soil; agriculture; production; LGP; Trinidad; Tobago; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : Pritam Kumarsingh A Case Study to develop and test GIS/SDSS methods to assess the production capacity of a Cocoa Site in Trinidad and Tobago Trinidad and Tobago has achieved world-wide affirmation for its unique fine and flavour cocoa (Theobroma cacao). This classification of cocoa commands price premiums on the global market. READ MORE

  3. 3. Ultraluminous sources in X-ray sky surveys

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Högenergifysik

    Author : Miquel Colom i Bernadich; [2020]
    Keywords : X-rays; X-ray astronomy; black holes; neutron stars; accretion physics; XMM-Newton; eROSITA;

    Abstract : Ultraluminous X-ray sources (ULXs) are extragalactic, non-nuclear, point-like X-ray sources whose luminosity supersedes that of the Eddington limit of an accreting stellar mass black hole (L> 10 ^ 39 erg / s). Most of them are powered by black holes and neutron stars undergoing genuine super-Eddington accretion, with a small handful of candidates being consistent with sub-Eddington accretion on an intermediate mass black hole. 4. 4. Stellar populations in the Green Pea galaxy J1457+2232 : Study of possible age gradients by using highly resolved HST broad band imaging of the Green Peagalaxy SDSS-J145735.13+223201.8 at redshift 0.15.

    University essay from Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för astronomi

    Author : Jan Malmgren; [2019]
    Keywords : Green Pea; star formation; SFR; LyC leaker; age gradient; spatially resolved; HST;

    Abstract : Abstract In this report I present a study of possible age gradients in the Green Pea galaxy J145735.13+223201.8 to be able to conclude if there is an extended star forming history in such a galaxy. READ MORE

  5. 5. Examining variable galactic nuclei with the help of astronomical databases and archives

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Teoretisk astrofysik

    Author : Jimmy Kjellqvist; [2019]
    Keywords : Active Galactic Nuclei; Variable stars; Variable objects; Aktiva Galaxkärnor; Variabla stjärnor; Variabla objekt;

    Abstract : There exists many astronomical objects that vary in brightness. Objects such as variable stars like the Cepheids that periodically expands and contracts their outer layers, or the active galactic nuclei (AGN) where accretion of matter into a black hole generates a often varying brightness.
