  1. 6. High-resolution offshore reflection seismic investigation of the Stockholm Bypass tunnel

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Author : Fengyi Liu; [2017]
    Keywords : infrastructure; tunnel; seismic; reflection; multiple; engineering;

    Abstract : Boat-towed high-frequency, short source and receiver spacing, reflection seismic data, 16 profiles and in total 3884 m long, were acquired in 2008 for the planning of the Stockholm Bypass multilane (3 lanes in each direction in two different tubes) underground motorway tunnel designed to ease the ever increasing car traffic on the city and neighbouring regions. The planned bypass will be about 21 km long of which 18 km will be in the form of bedrock tunnel. READ MORE

  2. 7. Extending the resolution of conventional deep seismic 3D surveys

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Teknisk geologi; Lunds universitet/Väg- och vattenbyggnad (CI)

    Author : Niklas Gustafsson; [2015]
    Keywords : Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : The main objective of this master's thesis is to evaluate a new processing method for extracting seismic conventional 3D streamer deep target data for shallow subsurface imaging. Deep target acquisitions have greater potential than it's conventional use. READ MORE

  3. 8. Induced Seismicity in the Dannemora Mine, Sweden

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Geofysik

    Author : Joanna Holmgren; [2015]
    Keywords : Mining-induced seismicity; phase picking; particle motion; local earthquake tomography; correlation; local magnitude;

    Abstract : Induced seismicity is a common phenomenon that occurs as soon as the stress state in the subsurface is externally altered in a way that faults are destabilized. It is especially problematic in stable tectonic regions where the area is not used to earthquakes; the infrastructure is not built to withstand ground movement and thus when the induced seismicity occurs damage can follow. 4. 9. 3D Processing of Seismic Data from the Ketzin CO2 Storage Site, Germany

    University essay from Geofysik

    Author : Jawwad Ashraf Qureshi; [2013]
    Keywords : Seismic processing; carbon dioxide sequestration; Ketzin;

    Abstract : The accumulation of CO2 in the atmosphere is considered to be the main reason for the global warming effect. The emissions can be reduced substantially by capturing and storing the CO2. The CO2SINK project was Europe’s first onshore project for the geological storage and monitoring of CO2. READ MORE

  5. 10. Reprocessing of 2D Reflection Seismic Marine Data and Investigation into the AVO behavior of Cambrian Sandstones, Southern Baltic Sea, Sweden

    University essay from Geofysik

    Author : Mahboubeh Montazeri; [2013]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : A seismic line from the 2007 Dalders survey, Baltic Sea, has been re-processed and used along with well data as a basis for an investigation into the AVO behavior of the Faludden Cambrian sandstone reservoir.  Line OP0701-260 is located in the southern part of the Baltic Sea with an approximate length of 52 km.
