  1. 1. Study on Decolorization of Reactive-dyed Cotton through Fenton-oxidation as a Pre-treatment for Textile Recycling

    University essay from Högskolan i Borås/Akademin för textil, teknik och ekonomi

    Author : Elise Meurs; [2023]
    Keywords : Fenton-oxidation; advanced oxidation processes; decolorization; textile recycling; cotton; reactive dye;

    Abstract : In this master thesis, the feasibility of Fenton-oxidation for the decolorization of reactive dyed cotton is investigated as a potentially environmental-friendly preparatory treatment for mechanical/chemical recycling. Raw, knitted cotton is dyed with a black and a blue dye, whereafter preliminary tests are performed to investigate the influence of increasing Fenton- solution concentrations and different iron-sources on the efficiency of the discoloration, without carrying out complete optimization of the process-parameters. 2. 2. End-of-life wind blade recycling through thermal process

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för materialvetenskap

    Author : Kerstin Benz; [2023]
    Keywords : Wind Turbine Blades; Recycling; Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic; Molten Salt Pyrolysis;

    Abstract : Renewable energy production with wind turbines has been rising in the last 30 years and it is a crucial technology, which is necessary for the energy transition. As sustainable as the energy production of wind turbines is, the waste management of the blade material is not. Most of the blades end up on a landfill or get incinerated. READ MORE

  3. 3. An investigation of high moisture meat analogues as mince - The influence of process parameters and ingredients on the final texture

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Livsmedelsteknik och nutrition (master)

    Author : Elisabeth Gonzalez Siavichay; [2021]
    Keywords : High moisture extrusion; Soy protein; Vegetable fat; Extrusion cooking; Food technology; Technology and Engineering; Agriculture and Food Sciences;

    Abstract : The goal of this master thesis project was to investigate and develop a minced meat analogue through high moisture extrusion and shredding of soy protein and vegetable fat. Soy protein in the form of soy protein concentrate (SPC) and soy protein isolate (SPI), vegetable fat in the form of high oleic canola oil and a blend containing partially and fully hydrogenated canola oil was utilized in the study.
