  1. 1. Dynamic simulation and 3D visualization of a floating tilted counter-rotating vertical axis offshore wind turbine

    University essay from

    Author : Lovisa Jonsson; Alexander Hedene; Klara Österling; [2023]
    Keywords : Wind turbine; Offshore; VAWT; CRVT; Simulation; Visualization; MATLAB; Dynamics;

    Abstract : The growing global demand for clean energy is critical, and wind power plays a crucial role in addressing this need. The increasing demand is driving advancements in the field of offshore wind power and one promising innovation is the counter-rotating vertical axis turbines (CRVT), specifically designed for floating wind power installations. 2. 2. System Identification of a Fixed-Wing UAV Using a Prediction Error Method

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Reglerteknik

    Author : Trulsa Eriksson; [2023]
    Keywords : System identification; Fixed-wing UAV; Modelling; Parameter estimation;

    Abstract : Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is a rapidly expanding area of research due to their versatile usage, such as inspection of places inaccessible to humans and surveillance missions. This creates a demand for a reliable model that can accurately describe the dynamics of the system in order to improve the performance of the vehicle. 3. 3. Quadcopter Control System Design and Implementation with LQR assisted by Kalman Filter: An Experimental Study

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Author : Ludwig Horvath; Martin Petré; [2023]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This study stems from the audacious assumption that two bachelor students could successfully construct a functional quadcopter from scratch, covering both software and hardware aspects. The project begins by establishing a foundation for modeling the quadcopter dynamics, including derivation and linearization techniques for implementing a linear quadratic regulator (LQR). READ MORE

  4. 4. Development and Use of System Modeler 6DOF Flight Mechanics Model in Aircraft Conceptual Design

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Fluida och mekatroniska system

    Author : Niko Erä-Esko; [2022]
    Keywords : Aircraft Conceptual Design; Flight Mechanics; Modelling and Simulation;

    Abstract : This thesis presents a tool for conceptual design of a traditional configuration aircraft by using a parametric six degrees of freedom (6DOF) flight mechanics model implemented in the Modelica Language using Wolfram System Modeler. Being first only able to model and simulate the uncontrolled flight of an aircraft with fixed mass and centre of gravity (CG), and requiring detailed aerodynamic parameters as an input, the 6DOF model is improved by developing new features to reduce the number of required inputs while also increasing the data output of the simulations. 5. 5. Online Parameter Estimation of a Six- Phase Machine for Marine Application

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Raimundo Montalba Mesa; [2021]
    Keywords : Multiphase electrical machines; IPSM; Parameter estimation; Online estimation; Stator resistance estimation; Permanent magnet flux estimation.; Flerfas elektriska maskiner; IPSM; Parameteruppskattning; Online uppskattning; Statorresistans uppskattning; Flödesuppskattning av permanentmagneter.;

    Abstract : In the recent decades, an increased interest into multiphase machines has developed due to certain beneficial properties they have over the standard three- phase machines. Proper modelling of a multiphase machine allows access to higher degrees of freedom given by the ability to control higher order harmonic frames. READ MORE
