  1. 1. Towards harmonisation of a meaningful Human Rights Due Diligence or Risk of Cosmetic Compliance? : A legal analytical analysis of the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive proposal

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Teologiska institutionen

    Author : Lyngå Alexandra; [2023]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Caution should be made to the assumption that mandatory human rights due diligence (HRDD) for businesses automatically will lead to an increased respect for the human rights as it is susceptible to cosmetic forms of compliance. The formulation of HRDD within the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence (CSDD) directive is thus crucial for the directive to make a substantial, meaningful change and succeed with fostering companies respect for the human rights. Abstract : In this thesis, issues surrounding climate actions are analysed through the notion of corporate due diligence in the European Union (EU) context. The study explores how mandatory climate change due diligence schemes, potentially in the form of a legally binding instrument, may affect the critical sector of energy-intensive industries (EIIs) in the Union and further contribute to the broader EU climate actions. 4. 4. Transverse Momentum Spectra in pp collisions (\sqrt{s}\) = 7 TeV and \(\sqrt{s}\) = 13 TeV in ALICE

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik

    Author : Andreas Stokkeland; [2023]
    Keywords : Multiplicity; Multiplicity classes; Soft interactions; Quark Gluon Plasma; QGP; transverse momentum; p_T; Chi-squared; fits; fit functions; Levy; Lévy; Exponential; BGBW; Boltzmann-Gibbs blast-wave; Fermi-Dirac; Bose-Einstein; Boltzmann; pion; kaon; proton; transverse momentum spectra; p_T spectra; surface velocity; Minimum Bias; MB; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : In this project particle production as a function of transverse momentum (\(p_{\rm T}\)) in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy (\(\sqrt{s}\)) of 7 TeV and 13 TeV has been studied. The transverse momentum is interesting to study since it reflects momentum created in the collision (before the collision, all momentum is in the beam - going in a longitudinal direction) and therefore gives information on the collision dynamics.
