  1. 1. Fumonisin B1 : toxiska effekter och verkningsmekanismer för toxicitet

    University essay from SLU/Dept. of Biomedical Sciences and Veterinary Public Health

    Author : Linnea Eknefelt; [2015]
    Keywords : fumonisin B1; FB1; ekvin leukoencefalomalaci; ELEM; hole in the head syndrome; lungödem gris; PPE; fusarium; levertoxicitet; njurtoxicitet; carcinogent; equine leukoencephalomalacia; porcine pulmonary edema; liver toxicity; kidney toxicity; carcinogenic;

    Abstract : Mykotoxinet fumonisin B1 som förekommer i hela världen på framförallt majs, har visats ge upphov till flera olika toxiska effekter hos en mängd olika djurslag. De mest specifika är leukoencefalomalaci hos häst (ELEM) och lungödem hos gris (PPE), men även skador i lever, njurar och hjärt-kärlsystemet samt carcinogenicitet har observerats. READ MORE

  2. 2. Amino Alcohols from Asymmetric Transfer Hydrogenation of α-Amido-β-Keto Esters Possessing Olefins: Formal Total Synthesis of Sphingosine

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för kemivetenskap (CHE)

    Author : Elin Stridfeldt; [2012]
    Keywords : Asymmetric transfer hydrogenation; asymmetric catalysis; anti-β-hydroxy-α-amino ester; Sphingosine; cross metathesis;

    Abstract : In this thesis a methodology to synthesize anti-β-hydroxy-α-amino esters possessing olefins has been investigated. The developed procedures originate from two already established procedures in which α-amido-β-keto esters, which do not contain olefins, has been stereoselectively reduced to the corresponding anti-β-hydroxy-α-amino alcohols via asymmetric transfer hydrogenation coupled with dynamic kinetic resolution. 3. 3. Treatment of a mantle cell lymphoma cell line with cannabinoids and cytostatics : - effects on DNA synthesis and ceramide metabolism

    University essay from Akademin för hållbar samhälls- och teknikutveckling; Institutionen för biologi och kemiteknik

    Author : Ablahad Chabo; [2009]
    Keywords : cancer; mantle cell lymphoma; cannabinoids; cytostatics; ceramide;

    Abstract : Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is an aggressive B-cell malignancy with bad prognosis, which predominates in males with advanced age. However, studies of the endocannabinoid system and how it affects tumour behaviour provides the basis for designing innovative therapeutic strategies that could open new opportunities for treatment of patient with MCL.
