  1. 6. Evaluating Sugar Signaling during Xylose Oxidation in Saccharomyces cerevisiae

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Teknisk mikrobiologi

    Author : Viktor Persson; [2020]
    Keywords : Saccharomyces cerevisiae; yeast; xylose oxidation; sugar signaling; biosensor; applied microbiology; teknisk mikrobiologi; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : The sugar signaling state of cells oxidizing xylose was investigated through the chromosomal integration of the Weimberg pathway into previously established biosensor strains capable of monitoring the Snf3p/Rgt2p, SNF1/Mig1p, and cAMP/PKA pathways through the expression of HXT1, SUC2, and TPS1, respectively. Ultimately, two new strains were successfully developed containing both the Weimberg pathway and a biosensor for either HXT1 (TMB CB 112) or TPS1 (TMB CB 117). READ MORE

  2. 7. An evaluation of deterministic prediction of ocean waves using pressure data to assist a Wave Energy Converter

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Author : Niclas Bassili; Douglas Eriksson; [2020]
    Keywords : Deterministic wave prediction; Pressure sensor; Weakly dispersive reconstruction method; Time to spatial data assimilation; High-order spectral method; Determinisk vågförutsägelse; Trycksensor; Weakly dispersive reconstruction method; Time to spatial data assimilation; High-order spectral method;

    Abstract : Currently, existing devices for extracting electrical power from ocean waves all suffer from problems with low efficiency due to a lack of information about the incoming waves in advance. The complex dynamic nonlinear characteristics of the ocean make the prediction of these incoming waves a great challenge. READ MORE

  3. 8. Implementation of a Block Krylov Algorithm in Variational Data Assimilation

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Author : Clémentine Gas; [2019]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Numerical weather prediction relies on two major components: sophisticated atmospheric forecast models and equally important data assimilation algorithms. Data assimilation (DA) is the process used to produce the best estimate of the state of a model, using an Earth system numerical model and observations. READ MORE

  4. 9. Utilizing digitalization for improved knowledge transfer in Project-Based Organizations : A single case study of a management consulting firm

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Industriell Ekonomi

    Author : Axel Larsson; [2018]
    Keywords : project-based organizations; knowledge transfer; digitalization; ICT;

    Abstract : Purpose – The research purpose of this thesis project is to develop a framework that presents how project-based organizations can improve their knowledge transfer through the implementation of more digital solutions. Method – To fulfil the research purpose, the study took an exploratory and qualitative research approach. READ MORE

  5. 10. Investigation of growth modes of the lithoautotrophic bacterium Cupriavidus necator

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Teknisk mikrobiologi; Lunds universitet/Bioteknik

    Author : Raquel Perruca Foncillas; [2018]
    Keywords : applied microbiology; teknisk mikrobiologi; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : The microorganism Cupriavidus necator is a very interesting bacterium that has been established as a model microorganism for its capability to produce polyhydroxyalkanoates, more specifically polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB), a potential precursor/raw material for bioplastics. Lately, the scientific community has raised interest in the chemolithoautotrophic nature of C. READ MORE
