  1. 1. Beamforming router as relay to increase 5G cell coverage

    University essay from Blekinge Tekniska Högskola/Institutionen för datavetenskap;

    Author : Jhansi Dunuka; Nikolai Panagiotou; [2021]
    Keywords : Beamforming; MIMO; 5G; NR; Direction of Arrival; Relay;

    Abstract : The growing traffic and global bandwidth shortage for broadband cellular communi-cation networks has motivated to explore the underutilized millimeter wave frequencyspectrum for future communications. Fifth generation (5G) is the key to empow-ering new services and use cases for people, businesses, and society at large. READ MORE

  2. 2. Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) and Bayesian Inference for Gravitational Waves

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Astronomi

    Author : Christine Andersson; [2021]
    Keywords : Gravitational Waves; LISA; LISA mission; Bayesian Inference; Markov Chain Monte Carlo; MCMC; Bayes’ Theorem; stochastic sampling; Metropolis Hastings; histograms; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : The Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA) is a space borne gravitational wave detec- tor set to launch in 2034, with the objective of detecting and studying the Gravitational Waves (GWs) of our universe. So far, ground-based detectors such as the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO) have been successful in detecting GWs, but the limitations of ground based detectors is what makes LISA so special. 3. 3. Primordial Gravitational Waves and ultra-light Dark Matter in a complex singlet extended Standard Model

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Partikelfysik; Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik

    Author : Sara Wildenor; [2021]
    Keywords : theoretical physics; gravitational waves; dark matter; complex singlet extended standard model; LISA; BBO; DECIGO; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : In this thesis, the consequences of extending the internal symmetries of the standard model with a complex singlet scalar field, are investigated in terms of dark matter phenomenology and the possibility of primordial gravitational wave detection utilizing space based laser interferometry. The scalar potential of the model is constructed with a Z2 symmetry, which allows for the retainment of a linear and a quadratic coupling parameter, as well as a stable dark matter candidate, and an additional non-zero vacuum expectation value for the real component of the scalar field. 4. 4. Device Resonance Response in a Wave Energy Converter : Investigation of Surge Resonance in a Heaving Point Absorber

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Elektricitetslära

    Author : Lykke Östbom; [2021]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Wave power possesses vast potential to become a considerable energy contributor. The main challenge for wave power to become competitive on the energy market is to minimize the delivered energy cost simultaneously as designing a wave energy converter (WEC) strong enough to survive extreme sea conditions. 5. 5. The Upsurge of Ethno-nationalism and Ethiopia's Fragile Democracy

    University essay from Linnéuniversitetet/Institutionen för samhällsstudier (SS)

    Author : Tsegaye Bulgan; [2021]
    Keywords : Ethiopia; ethno-nationalism; democracy; ethnicity; democratization;

    Abstract : By exploring the upsurge of the new wave of ethno-nationalism and its effect on institutions of democracy in Ethiopia, this study attempts to contribute to the study of fragile democracy in highly divided states. Methodologically, it is qualitative research where key informant interviews and literature review were employed to collect the needed data. READ MORE
