  1. 21. Transient Dynamics and Core Tunneling in Vertical Spin-Vortex Pairs

    University essay from KTH/Nanostrukturfysik

    Author : Milton Persson; [2019]
    Keywords : Spin-vortex; ultra fast vortex dynamics; milli-Kelvin temperatures; macroscopic quantum tunneling; Spinnvirvel; ultrasnabb virveldynamik; milli-Kelvin temperaturer; makroskopisk kvanttunnling;

    Abstract : Spin-vortices in vertically spaced pairs of thin elliptical Permalloy nanoparticles are investigated. The two vortex cores with parallel out-of-plane magnetization exhibit a strong monopole-like attraction through the spacer much thinner than the core length, thus forming a bound core-core pair. 2. 22. The Effect of Fano Resonance on ExchangeInteraction in a DQD Junction with RashbaSpin-Orbit Coupling

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Materialteori

    Author : Seif Alwan; [2019]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : In this work, we investigate electronic transport through a double quantum dot junction, where each dot couple to external localized spins. The junction is embedded in between two metallic leads,functioning as continues electron reservoirs. READ MORE

  3. 23. Short Range Gesture Sensing and Classification Using Pulsed Millimeter-Wave Radar and Convolutional Neural Networks

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik

    Author : Hannes Dahlberg; Anton Evertsson; [2019]
    Keywords : Classification; convolutional neural network; gesture sensing; hand gesture recognition; machine learning; millimeter wave radar; pulsed radar; transfer-learning.; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Human hand gestures present a novel way of interacting with electronic devices. A millimeter-wave radar setup utilizing a pulsed Resonant-Tunneling Diode signal generator in the 60 GHz ISM band is used to measure 12 different hand gestures. The data is used to train and validate Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs). READ MORE

  4. 24. The STM Study of Bi Adsorption on the InAs(111)B Surface

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Synkrotronljusfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Jung-Ching Liu; [2019]
    Keywords : bismuth; indium arsenide 111 B; adsorption; surface; scanning tunneling microscopy; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : Semiconductors composed of group III and group V elements have a variety of promising applications, such as topological insulators and quantum computers. Among this category of semiconductors, bismuth (Bi)-containing III-V compounds are able to make these applications possible. READ MORE

  5. 25. Theory and Modeling of Electrical Control of Chiral Qubit in Spin-Frustrated Molecular Triangle

    University essay from Linnéuniversitetet/Institutionen för fysik och elektroteknik (IFE)

    Author : Shirin Hakimi; [2019]
    Keywords : quantum computers; spinfrustration;

    Abstract : Spin-frustrated molecular triangles have four low-lying energy states, so called chiral states, which can be employed as the unit of information, qubit, in a quantum computer. The fact that the chiral states are characterized by two quantum numbers chirality and spin allows the control of the magnetization of the molecule by an electric field due to the spin-electric interaction.
