  1. 1. Investigation of Antenna Radomes in Low Earth Orbits

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Centrum för analys och syntes

    Author : Mathias Manohar Gren; [2023]
    Keywords : Materials; Science; Space; Satellites; Antenna Radomes; Beyond Gravity; Coatings; Physics; Chemistry; Low Earth Orbits; Engineering; Lunds University; Materials Chemistry; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Introduction: This master’s thesis focuses on exploring improved alternative material solutions for antenna radomes used to protect Beyond Gravity Sweden’s satellite antennas in low Earth orbits. Background: As the environment in low Earth orbit is harsh, surface materials on satellites experience high levels of atomic oxygen, ultra violet radiation, thermal-fluctuation, charged particles and micro meteoroids. 2. 2. UV laser patterning of silicone-based soft electrode grids

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för teknik och naturvetenskap; Linköpings universitet/Tekniska fakulteten

    Author : Maria Jakobsson; [2023]
    Keywords : Soft electrodes; Wearable electrodes; UV laser; Laser ablation; Laser curing; Polydimethylsiloxane; PDMS; Silver flakes; Teknisk biologi; Teknisk biologi;

    Abstract : Roughly 123 million people worldwide are affected by conditions such as epilepsy, dementia, and cardiovascular diseases. Wearable electrodes are currently used to monitor these conditions short-term. Long-term monitoring would allow for predicting seizures and could be used as a preventive treatment. READ MORE

  3. 3. Biobased Photocurable Resins for 3D-Printing of Self-Healable & Recyclable Thermosets

    University essay from KTH/Fiber- och polymerteknologi

    Author : Anna Gardell; Maria Aspenberg; Julia Aziz; [2022]

    Abstract : Överkonsumtionen av engångsartiklar i fossilbaserad plast är ett av dagens stora miljöproblem. Således finns en efterfrågan på strategier för framställning av biobaserade plaster i allmänhet och härdplaster i synnerhet. READ MORE

  4. 4. UV Curable Polymers for use in Additively Manufactured Energetic Materials

    University essay from KTH/Fiber- och polymerteknologi

    Author : Alexis Delorme; [2022]
    Keywords : Additive manufacturing; 3D printing; UV curing; mechanical properties; solid rocket motor; propellant; polymers; depth of cure; Additiv tillverkning; 3D-utskrift; UV-härdning; mekaniska egenskaper; fast-bränsleraketmotor; drivmedel; polymerer; härdningsdjup;

    Abstract : Fast-bränsle-raketer (SRM) har funnit sin plats i en stor mängd tillämpningar sedan deras framkomst mer än 2000 år sedan. En SRMs prestanda är förutbestämd av geometrin av drivmedelskrutet och är begränsad av gjutningsmetoden, som idag främst används i produktion. READ MORE

  5. 5. Short wavelength UV–LED photoinitiated radical polymerization of acrylate–based coating systems—A comparison with conventional UV curing.

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Strukturkemi

    Author : Olof Torfgård; [2021]
    Keywords : UV; LED; UVC; UVB; UVA; paint; acrylate; curing; Sherwin–Williams; ATR-FTIR; spectroradiometer; photoinitiator; the mercury arc lamp;

    Abstract : The present work was performed at Sherwin–Williams Sweden group AB with the objective of comparing short-wavelength light emitting diodes (UVB/UVC) with the conventional mercury arc lamp as a curing method of acrylate-based, UV-paint undergoing free-radical polymerization when exposed to UV-radiation. Due to environmental and health risks, mercury-doped radiation sources will be phased out in the near future, according to the United Nations Minamata convention, hence new alternatives are needed.
