  1. 1. Contribution to Sustainable Water Management in oligotrophic mountainous rivers : Sunlight induced inactivation of Escherichia coli under the influence of physicochemical parameters water-color and water depth

    University essay from Mittuniversitetet/Institutionen för ekoteknik- och hållbart byggande

    Author : Béla efternamn:Szépfalusi Student 1; [2022]
    Keywords : bacterial inactivation; E. coli; UV-radiation; water color; water depth; sustainable water management;

    Abstract : Water is essential for life on earth. Human society is challenged to sustain sufficient water quantity of good quality. This objective is reflected in sustainable development goal 6, “clean water and sanitation”. READ MORE

  2. 2. Sustainable water treatment processes : Scenarios for a better environment in Håbo municipality

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för kemi - Ångström; Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för kemi - BMC

    Author : Oskar Trozell; Daniel Wiman; Elis Wiggins; Elin Stigenberg; Alva Bergström; Emilia Andersson; [2021]

  3. 3. Development of an absorption model for gas discharge lamp simulation

    University essay from Malmö universitet/Institutionen för materialvetenskap och tillämpad matematik (MTM)

    Author : Oscar Vigstrand; [2021]
    Keywords : Discharge lamp; Plasma; UV radiation;

    Abstract : Ultraviolet (UV) light has been used for disinfection purposes for over 100 years. Irradiation by UV light is a method to disinfect surfaces in order to prevent microbiological growth. At Tetra Pak this is of great importance as they are manufacturer of filling machines. READ MORE

  4. 4. Towards Underwater UV Communication- Simulation and Experimentation on Penetration of UV Radiation into Sea water.

    University essay from Blekinge Tekniska Högskola

    Author : Subhash Chandra Ranga; [2021]
    Keywords : Optical Communication; Underwater communication Underwater communication Optical communication; Underwater communication Acoustic communication; Underwater communication Microwave communication; Visible Light Communication; Refractive Index.;

    Abstract : People around the globe are immensely trying to connect using light as carrier due to its low power consumption and high data transfer rates. Sound and microwaves are examples of other carriers that can be used, although they aren't nearly as efficient as light. A method of communicating is using light beneath the surface of the water. 5. 5. Short wavelength UV–LED photoinitiated radical polymerization of acrylate–based coating systems—A comparison with conventional UV curing.

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Strukturkemi

    Author : Olof Torfgård; [2021]
    Keywords : UV; LED; UVC; UVB; UVA; paint; acrylate; curing; Sherwin–Williams; ATR-FTIR; spectroradiometer; photoinitiator; the mercury arc lamp;

    Abstract : The present work was performed at Sherwin–Williams Sweden group AB with the objective of comparing short-wavelength light emitting diodes (UVB/UVC) with the conventional mercury arc lamp as a curing method of acrylate-based, UV-paint undergoing free-radical polymerization when exposed to UV-radiation. Due to environmental and health risks, mercury-doped radiation sources will be phased out in the near future, according to the United Nations Minamata convention, hence new alternatives are needed.
