  2. 2. A case study in consolidating the loss structure of different manufacturing sectors under lean context

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Produktionsekonomi

    Author : Hua Tong; Thi Minh Trang Dao; [2020]
    Keywords : Lean Manufacturing; Loss Deployment; Loss Structure; World Class Manufacturing WCM ; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : In the light of lean methodology, World Class Manufacturing requires continuous improvement in analyzing the losses to eliminate the wasteful resources and to boost the overall productivity. However, the standardized loss structure should be well-balanced to be general enough to cover the whole manufacturing procedure while being specific enough to point out the real issues happening for further improvement. 3. 3. Investigation of the heat transfer of enhanced additively manufactured minichannel heat exchangers

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Author : Hamidreza Rastan; [2019]
    Keywords : Minichannel; Microchannel; Heat exchanger; Additive manufacturing; 3D printing; Numerical simulation; CFD; Comsol;

    Abstract : Mini-/microchannel components have received attention over the past few decades owing to their compactness and superior thermal performance. Microchannel heat sinks are typically manufactured through traditional manufacturing practices (milling and sawing, electrodischarge machining, and water jet cutting) by changing their components to work in microscale environments or microfabrication techniques (etching and lost wax molding), which have emerged from the semiconductor industry.     Keywords : cPDMS; cAgPDMS; epidermal electrodes; silicon based composite; carbon black poltdimethylsiloxane;

    Abstract : A method of synthesizing silicone-based composite consisting of carbon black (CB) as a conductive ller in Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) was developed. The aim was to nd a cost eective and easier method to fabricate stretchable, epidermal and conductive electrodes in striving for inexpensive real-time health monitoring. READ MORE

  5. 5. Transient Plasma Photonic Crystals - A Route Towards Slow Ultra-intense Light?

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Atomfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Robin Weissenbilder; [2018]
    Keywords : slow; light; plasma; photonic; crystal; transient; ultra-intense; short; pulse; laser; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : Periodic electron and ion density modulations in near critical density plasmas induced by counterpropagating femtosecond pulses of intensities on the order of 10¹⁵ to 10¹⁶ Wcm⁻² are described in a linear and stationary regime and investigated using particle-in-cell simulations in one and two dimensions. The periodic gratings produce transient plasma photonic crystals lasting up to several picoseconds with ultra-wide angle-selective band gaps on the order of Δω/ω₀ ≈ 10-20%. READ MORE
