  1. 1. EFFECTS OF COMMERCIAL NANO-LIME PRODUCTS AS A CONSOLIDATION METHOD FOR WALL PAINTINGS An experimental case study

    University essay from Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för kulturvård

    Author : Hannah Petrini; [2023-11-07]
    Keywords : wall paintings; Dalby Church; nano-lime; consolidation; Nanorestore®; Nanorestore Plus®; conservation of wall paintings;

    Abstract : Some of the main deterioration problems concerning wall paintings is structural degradation of the wall painting and the flaking of the painted layer. Consolidation, both in the form of reinforcement of the rendering of the wall painting and the re-adherence of a flaking paint layer to the underlying substrate, have thus been an important part of conservation efforts concerning wall paintings. 2. 2. Feasibility Study on Additive Manufacturing of Copper Windings using Electron Beam Melting

    University essay from KTH/Produktionsutveckling

    Author : Marilena Wiele; Murad Abulawi; [2023]
    Keywords : Electron beam melting; Additive manufacturing; Electric motor windings; Hairpin windings; Winding design; Copper; Parameter optimization; Electrical conductivity; Elektronstrålesmältning; Additiv tillverkning; Elmotorlindningar; Hårnålslindningar; Lindningsdesign; Koppar; Parameteroptimering; Elektrisk ledningsförmåga;

    Abstract : Within the framework of this thesis, the electron beam melting of pure copper for the purpose of producing electrical windings was examined. The conventional manufacturing process of copper windings was investigated, and the potential advantages offered by the design freedom inherent in the electron beam melting process were explored. 3. 3. Investigation of coarse-grid CFD approach for nuclear engineering application

    University essay from KTH/Fysik

    Author : Michela Casarella; [2023]
    Keywords : Thermal-hydraulics; Nuclear reactor; CFD; Sub-channel; Coarse-grid; Turbulence; Pressure drop; Termisk-hydraulik; kärnreaktor; CFD; underkanal; grovkornigt nät; turbulens; tryckfall;

    Abstract : In this thesis, an innovative coarse grid CFD approach is developed that aims toexploit the capabilities of sub-channel codes and CFD methods while overcoming theirlimitations. In the approach, a very coarse mesh is implemented in the CFD softwareOpenFOAM and a new wall treatment, based on the traditional concept of the wallfunction, is applied to the wall boundary conditions of the domain to take into accountthe low resolution of the grid which does not allow to effectively capture the effect of thesolid walls on the thermo-hydraulics of the flow. 4. 4. Production of textile fibres from filamentous fungi grown on apple pomace : invertase pre-treatment

    University essay from Högskolan i Borås/Akademin för textil, teknik och ekonomi

    Author : Sofia Berg; [2023]
    Keywords : apple pomace; invertase; fibres; filamentous fungi; dry gel spinning;

    Abstract : In this work Rhizopus Delemar was grown on an apple pomace medium, a waste product from the juice industry. The apple pomace was pre-treated with the enzyme invertase to hydrolyse the sucrose available in the waste to glucose and fructose, which are digestible by the fungus. READ MORE

  5. 5. Correlation between Surface and Tumour Motion in Lung Cancer - including Deep Learning Perspectives

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Sjukhusfysikerutbildningen

    Author : Caisa Kjellström; [2023]
    Keywords : Medicine and Health Sciences;

    Abstract : Purpose: The purpose of this master thesis was to retrospectively investigate correlation between surface and tumour motion in lung cancer patients, alongside deep learning applications of the results. Additional correlations such as age, tumour volume and anatomical placement of the tumour were also investigated. READ MORE
