  1. 11. A Study on Data-driven Methods for Selection and Evaluation of Beam Subsets in 5G NR

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik

    Author : Nic Ekman; Ilias Theodoros Skordas; [2022]
    Keywords : 5G; NR; telecom; telecommunications; ML; machine learning; algorithms; beam; widebeam; propagation; beamforming; subset; RAN; radio; radio environment; ericsson; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : 5G New Radio is the next generation of mobile networks and it comes with promises of ultra-high speeds, ultra-high reliability and ultra-low latency. This has posed a challenge for the engineers entrusted with the task of finding solutions which could fulfil the specification, and as a result, some promising areas have received increased attention in recent years. 2. 12. Beamforming router as relay to increase 5G cell coverage

    University essay from Blekinge Tekniska Högskola/Institutionen för datavetenskap

    Author : Jhansi Dunuka; Nikolai Panagiotou; [2021]
    Keywords : Beamforming; MIMO; 5G; NR; Direction of Arrival; Relay;

    Abstract : The growing traffic and global bandwidth shortage for broadband cellular communi-cation networks has motivated to explore the underutilized millimeter wave frequencyspectrum for future communications. Fifth generation (5G) is the key to empow-ering new services and use cases for people, businesses, and society at large. READ MORE

  3. 13. Primordial Gravitational Waves and ultra-light Dark Matter in a complex singlet extended Standard Model

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik; Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation

    Author : Sara Wildenor; [2021]
    Keywords : theoretical physics; gravitational waves; dark matter; complex singlet extended standard model; LISA; BBO; DECIGO; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : In this thesis, the consequences of extending the internal symmetries of the standard model with a complex singlet scalar field, are investigated in terms of dark matter phenomenology and the possibility of primordial gravitational wave detection utilizing space based laser interferometry. The scalar potential of the model is constructed with a Z2 symmetry, which allows for the retainment of a linear and a quadratic coupling parameter, as well as a stable dark matter candidate, and an additional non-zero vacuum expectation value for the real component of the scalar field. 4. 14. Simulation of THz Quantum Cascade Lasers

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Matematisk fysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Viktor Rindert; [2021]
    Keywords : Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : Quantum Cascade Lasers (QCLs) have since their invention in 1994 become a crucial source for mid-infrared and THz radiation. Mid-infrared QCLs have achieved room temperature operation while THz QCLs have not. As such, simulations are an important tool in order to achieve a THz QCL operational at room temperature.
