  1. 1. Wireless electrocardiogram based on ultra-wideband communications

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Signaler och System

    Author : Maria Toll; [2019]
    Keywords : UWB; ECG; EKG; ultra-wideband; electrocardiogram; ultra wideband; radio communication; Decawave; DW1000; IoT; internet of things; Android; IEEE 802.15.4-2011;

    Abstract : The goal for this master thesis is to develop a prototype that uses ultra-wideband (UWB) communications to wirelessly transfer electrocardiogram (ECG) data from an ECG measurement unit to an Android device (smartphone or similar) which is used to process and display the ECG signals. The prototype should consist of two hardware nodes; (1) Node one having a ECG measurement unit (an AD8232 single lead heart rate monitor), an UWB communication module (a Decawave DWM1000 module) and a microcontroller (an Arduino DUE); and (2) Node two having an Android device (an Android smartphone), an UWB communication module (a Decawave DWM1000 module) and a microcontroller (an Arduino DUE). Abstract : In this thesis an electrocardiography (ECG) prototype is developed that wireless transfer the ECG measurements to an Android smartphone. The prototype consist of two printed circuit boards (PCBs), an Android smartphone and an automatically tunable notch filter. READ MORE

  4. 4. Timing delay characterization of GNU Radio based 802.15.4 network using LimeSDR

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Saptarshi Hazra; [2018]
    Keywords : Software Defined Radio; LimeSDR; GNU Radio; Latency; IEEE 802.15.4; USB Transfer Delay; USBMon; Software Defined Radio; LimeSDR ; GNU Radio; Latency ; IEEE 802.15.4; USB Transfer Delay;

    Abstract : Massive deployment of diverse ultra-low power wireless devices necessitates the rapid development of communication protocols. Software Defined Radio (SDR) provides a flexible platform for deploying and evaluating real-world performance of these protocols. But SDR platform based communication systems suffer from high and unpredictable delays. READ MORE
