  1. 1. Peak Load Shaving Strategies of an Office Building : A Case Study at AirSon

    University essay from Högskolan i Halmstad/Akademin för företagande, innovation och hållbarhet

    Author : Azin Farzam; [2024]
    Keywords : Shifting Peak Load; Electricity Reduction; Measuring Peak Load; Electricity Efficiency; Building Management System; Electricity Consumption.;

    Abstract : Introduction: The global demand for renewable energy is expected to grow annually due to rising electricity consumption and economic and regulatory incentives. Efficient consumption and management of electricity consumption can support this trend (shifting from fossil resources to renewable resources) and benefit companies economically by reducing peak loads, reducing subscription costs, and protecting companies' power systems and networks. Abstract : The following thesis investigates the complexities of implementing the Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology. It explores the perceived benefits and challenges that fleet customers within an automotive company have towards the technology. READ MORE

  3. 3. Benchmarking a 1 kW hybrid hydrogen fuel cell system

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för energivetenskaper

    Author : Jonathan Envall; [2023]
    Keywords : PEMFC; fuel cell; UAV; hybrid; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV's) offer great versatility in the tasks that they may perform and they are today used in many sectors. The H24LEO project, administered by the Lund University School of Aviation, aims to develop and demonstrate a hybrid proton-exchange membrane fuel cell-powered UAV to aid in search and rescue operations performed by the Swedish Maritime Administration, and reduce the greenhouse gas emissions compared to similar work performed by helicopters. 4. 4. Synthesis of Organo-Iron(II) Complexes Including N-Heterocyclic Carbene Ligation as Solar Cell Material.

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Centrum för analys och syntes

    Author : Salim Charkas; [2023]
    Keywords : Dye-sensitized solar cell; Transition metal complex; Synthesis iron; N-heterocyclic carbene NHC ; Organic chemistry; Chemistry;

    Abstract : The push-pull design has been shown to increase DSC performance through the introduction of electron-withdrawing groups and electron-donating groups, usually on opposite far ends of the sensitizer. The scope of this thesis was to synthesize several pre-N-heterocyclic carbene ligand analogs that are inspired by the push-pull design in an attempt to investigate their susceptibility to Fe(II) complexation. 5. 5. Reprocessing and Characterization of Polybenzimidazole for High-Temperature Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cells

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Centrum för analys och syntes

    Author : Douglas Björkengren; [2023]
    Keywords : polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells; PEMFC; HTPEMFC; polymer technology; polymer characterization; reprocessing; recycling; polybenzimidazole; PBI; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : A reprocessing method of poly(2,2’-(m-phenylene)-5,5’-bibenzimidazole) (PBI) membranes recovered from the production line of High-Temperature Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cells (HT-PEMFC) at Blue World Technologies (BWT) has been developed in order to reduce material loss in the production. Redissolution of scrap PBI membranes in poly(phosphoric acid) (PPA) and phosphoric acid (PA) was successful and the subsequent washing procedure produced PBI that could be redissolved in N,N-dimethyl acetamide (DMAc) and suitable for solution casting of new membranes.
