  1. 1. A Low Noise Digitally Controlled Oscillator for a Wi-Fi 6 All-Digital PLL

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Tommy Lundberg; [2023]
    Keywords : Digitally Controlled Oscillator; All-Digital Phase Locked Loop; Oscillator; Low Phase Noise; Class-C oscillator; Dual-Core; Dynamic BiasingCircuit; Digitalt Styrd Oscillator; Digital PLL; Lågt Fasbrus; Klass-C Oscillator; Dubbelkärnig; Dynamisk Bias-Krets;

    Abstract : Following the rise of Internet of Things (IoT), or just the technological advancements and expectations in a world where the things are or will be connected, new demands are put on Integrated Circuit (IC) for wireless connectivity. The use cases seem endless; smart home, healthcare, entertainment, and science are all areas that can benefit from connectivity of low power electronics. READ MORE

  2. 2. Current-Mode Class D Power Amplifier for 2.4GHz Wi-Fi

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Yann Jean Michael Pirot; [2023]
    Keywords : Power Amplifier; Wifi; Digital Power Amplfier; Class D; RFIC; Analogue; Effektförstärkare; Wifi; digital förstärkare; klass D; analog;

    Abstract : Modern wireless communication techniques employed in the Wi-Fi® protocol, such as orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing exhibit analogue signals with high peak-to-average power ratio. Therefore, power amplifiers for Wi-Fi suffer from low efficiency when operating in back-off mode, away from their maximum efficiency at peak power. READ MORE

  3. 3. Automated Layout Porting and Optimization of digital designs

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik

    Author : Karthik Srinivasan Shekar; [2021]
    Keywords : Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : The aim of the thesis is to investigate and implement an algorithm that can automate the porting of the layout from one technology node to another technology node. The layout optimization of any design block can be implemented for better performance. READ MORE

  4. 4. A Technology Agnostic Approach for Standard-cell Layout Design Automation

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik

    Author : Tom Johansson; [2019]
    Keywords : IC; automation; standard cell; standard cell design; ASIC; chip; graph theory; SAT; full adder; adder; MUX; layout; schematic; mst; minimum spanning tree; kruskal; pnr; placement; routing; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : The logic scaling following Moores law has reached a level where System on Chips (SoCs) commonly contains millions of standard cells. The sheer amount implies that even small optimizations on a standard cell can have a significant effect on the SoC performance. To ensure the performance of standard cells, many of these are hand-drawn. READ MORE

  5. 5. Analog Baseband Implementation of a Wideband Observation Receiver for RF Applications

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Elektroniska Kretsar och System

    Author : Gustaf Svensson; [2016]
    Keywords : observation receiver RF IC analog baseband digital pre-distortion feedback;

    Abstract : During the thesis, a two-staged analog baseband circuit incorporating a passive analog filter and a wideband voltage amplifier were successfully designed, implemented in an IC mask layout in a 65nm CMOS technology, and joined with a previously designed analog front-end design to form a wideband observation receiver. The baseband circuit is capable of receiving an IF bandwidth up to 990MHz produced by the analog front-end using low-side injection. READ MORE
