  1. 1. Spectromorphological Reductions : Exploring and developing approaches for sound-based notation of live electronics

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Musik, medier och teater

    Author : Hans Lennart Jonsäll; [2023]
    Keywords : live electronics; electronic music; electroacoustic music; notation; spectromorphology; typo-morphology; Sound Notation; digital musical instruments.;

    Abstract : In this master’s thesis, a sound-based notation system is explored and developed in the composition and performance of a musical work for live electronics. My approach builds on existing systems for electroacoustic music analysis, most notably Dennis Smalley’s (1997) theory of spectromorphology and the symbolic language of Lasse Thoresen & Andreas Hedman (2007) based on Pierre Schaeffer’s typo-morphology, as well as Mattias Sköld’s (2023) adaptation of this system for composition and transcription (Sound Notation). 2. 2. Real-time Sound Analysis to Count Opening Cycles of Automatic Doors

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik

    Author : Teodor Renman; Charlie Ringström; [2023]
    Keywords : Sound analysis; signal processing; event detection; MFCC; real-time; automatic door; embedded programming; stm32; microcontroller; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Counting opening cycles on an automatic sliding door is of great interest for a company manufacturing doors, such as ASSA Abloy. These metrics could be used for consumer statistics or for door diagnostics. Counting opening cycles is seemingly trivial when there is access to the door’s internal diagnostics or having adequate sensors. READ MORE

  3. 3. An Investigation of Methods for Flow Measurements in a Gasketed Plate Heat Exchanger for Predictive Maintenance

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Biomedicinsk teknik

    Author : Viktor Ekström; [2022]
    Keywords : gasketed plate heat exchanger; electrical measurements; sensors; predictive maintenance; machine learning; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : For a company to stay relevant in the long term, it is essential to keep up with the latest technology and continuously consider new innovative solutions for improving products and services. The gasketed plate heat exchanger (GPHE) is a mechanical device, and this work attempts to investigate different possibilities for incorporating sensor devices and predictive maintenance systems to improve the device.
